The World Ends With You, Dissidia Composer Takeharu Ishimoto Leaves Square Enix

Video game composer Takeharu Ishimoto announced on Twitter on Thursday that he is resigning from Square Enix by the end of the year. Ishimoto stressed that the resignation was an amicable one with the company, and starting next year he will work as a freelance composer.

With Square Enix, Ishimoto has composed music for such games as Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Last Order: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Type-0, Final Fantasy Agito, The World Ends with You, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. He also composed the music for each installment in the Dissidia Final Fantasy fighting game series, including the upcoming Dissidia Final Fantasy NT PlayStation 4 game. He also composed music for the Last Order Final Fantasy VII OVA.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will ship in Japan on January 11 and in North America on January 30.
