Fuji TV updated its broadcast schedule this week for the Mandō Kobayashi manga television program. The schedule reveals that Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto will appear as a special guest on the 13th episode that will premiere on December 13. The announcement also confirms that Kishimoto's ninja manga has 200 million copies in print worldwide.
As of September, the series had more than 200 million copies in print, including 130 million in Japan and 75 million in 35 countries worldwide.
The manga's conclusion will be two chapters long and debut in this year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on Monday. Viz Media publishes the chapters simultaneously in its digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
Kishimoto has been serializing the ninja manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 1999, and Shueisha published the 71st compiled book volume in Japan on November 4. Viz Media published the 67th volume in North America on October 7.
The series has spawned multiple television anime, anime films, original video anime, and game adaptations. The Naruto Shippūden anime is still ongoing, and a film titled The Last -Naruto the Movie- will open in Japan on December 6.
