Iris Zero Fantasy Manga Resumes in September
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga artist Takana Hotaru posted on Twitter on Saturday that Hotaru and writer Piroshiki's Iris Zero manga will resume in the November issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine on September 27. The October issue of the magazine, which ships on Monday, will also feature an announcement for the manga's return.
Digital Manga Publishing has released the first five volumes of the manga digitally in English, and it describes the story:
In a world where nearly every kid has a superpower called an “Iris,” only a few unfortunate people like Toru are born without. Bullied throughout his childhood, his motto in life is “Zero Attention” — keep your head down and don't stand out. But after one of the most popular girls in school confesses to him, his motto is put to the test. The end of his ordinary days has arrived…
Piroshiki and Hotaru launched the manga in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine in 2009. The manga was previously on hiatus between 2014 and July 2016. Hotaru posted in June that this most recent hiatus is due to Hotaru's poor physical health.
The manga's seventh and most recent volume shipped in November 2016. Before that, the sixth volume shipped with a drama CD in March 2014.
