February U.S. Comic Sales Up 10% Compared to Last Year

Sales of comics and graphic novels in American comic retailers were 10% higher in February compared to the same time period last year, according to Diamond Comic Distributors. The figure is based on 15.91% rise in comic sales and a 1.5% drop in graphic novels. Marvel held the top spot with a 35% market share, followed by DC Comics with a 29% share.
The top-selling manga in American comic retailers for February was Kodansha USA's Sailor Moon volume 9 with a ranking of #18 and an estimated sale of 2,495 copies.
This is the second month of growth. January saw 37.89% rise in graphic novel sales and a 22% rise in comic sales.
