take a look at fullmetal biologist's Manga

5 Centimeters Per Second (movie) So-so Beautiful world but boring....
Afro Samurai (TV) Decent Senselessly violent but that's the point! Just long enough to keep my interest. Samuel L. Jackson made it worthwhile.
Afro Samurai: Resurrection (movie) So-so
Akira (movie) Excellent Definitely a classic, but it took me at least two viewings to appreciate it. Probably the first anime to get into my head. Also gave me some appreciation for the effect of Hiroshima on all aspects of Japanese culture.
(The) Animatrix (OAV) Very good I like this movie better than the Matrix 2 and 3.
Appleseed (movie) So-so Didn't really leave an impression on me!
Basilisk (TV) So-so Some innovative fight sequences and cool visuals but overall I thought it was sexist and repetitive. None of the characters really appealed to me. I did like the Romeo and Juliet storyline and thought it could have been developed a bit more.
Berserk (TV 1997) Good Slow building plot leading to unfortunate ending. I thought Guts was the least interesting character but Griffith was brilliant. I guess I should read the manga to find out what was going on....
Black Cat (TV) Good
Boogiepop Phantom (TV) Good
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Excellent
Cowboy Bebop (TV) Masterpiece I can't imagine anyone not liking this series. I could watch it over and over! See ya space cowboy...
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Excellent Works very well within the series. To me, it's like a visit with good friends.
Death Note (TV) Excellent
Descendants of Darkness (TV) Very good
Ergo Proxy (TV) Good Sort of uneven with a great episode followed by a lame one. Seemed like nothing happened in about 1/3 of the show. Always looked gorgeous though and Re-al is a great character.
Eureka Seven (TV) Good
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Masterpiece Probably my favorite anime series, simply because the characters, even the villians, are three dimensional. Also a fascinating world with deep and interesting plotlines. The only anime that breaks my heart.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa Excellent Almost as good as the series. The historical tie-in is very well done.
Gantz (TV) Good
Ghost in the Shell (movie) Good Liked it but I thought the television series was better.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (movie) Very good The visuals blew me away but the plot was baffling, relying too much on obscure quotations and narration. I am not sure what was going on but worth it just for the superior animation.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) Masterpiece Almost perfect blend of sci-fi, action, philosophy, and a great detective story. My only minor complaint is that the characters are very interesting and well-defined but I didn't feel anything for them.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (TV) Masterpiece Pretty much the same reaction as the first series. One of the best.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society (movie) Very good Good but not long enough!
Gilgamesh (TV) Good
Grave of the Fireflies (movie) Not really good Very well animated but I admit I don't like this movie at all! I just couldn't stand a movie with the long painful death of not one but two children! I understand that this is a powerful WWII story but it seems like emotional blackmail to watch this film.
Gungrave (TV) So-so
Gunslinger Girl (TV) Very good
Hellsing (TV) Decent I love vampire stories so I was looking forward to this, but I found promising ideas wasted in a confusing, sometimes ridiculous narrative. Alucard is brilliant and the rest of it was a mess. I guess I need to watch the Hellsing Ultimate but I need some distance from this series for a while.
Howl's Moving Castle (movie) Excellent Love it. Strange and funny and beautiful, like all Miyazaki. Billy Crystal's voice for Calcifer was perfect.
Kai Doh Maru (OAV) Bad Cool idea to animate a series to look like a Japanese painted screen. Bad idea to forget a plot and any semblance of a meaningful narrative.
Kiki's Delivery Service (movie) Decent Cute for the younger set but not as interesting Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away.
Kino's Journey (TV) Very good Interesting and thoughtful. Lots of ideas to discuss here.
Metropolis (movie) Good Beautiful animation but I found myself looking at the "scenery" more than paying attention to the story. Sort of shallow and light-weight but still worth a look.
Millennium Actress (movie) So-so Kind of interesting and weird but did not leave a big impression on me.
Mushi-Shi (TV) Masterpiece One my favorites, definitely. I love the look of the series and the artwork, which is evocative of pastoral, ancient Japan. Just the color of the backdrops and use of music is really unique. Each story is excellent and the series is very thoughtful and multi-layered. I would go on a journey with Ginko anyday. My only quibble is that some of the other characters, while they have distinct personalities, often look alike.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (movie) Very good Beautifully animated and still very good, but not my favorite Miyazaki.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV) Very good It took me a while to get into and I liked it...until the end. I guess a lot has been written about the ending but I couldn't help but feel let down. I understand this was someone else's vision and personal journey but I can't fully appreciate it.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (movie) Good Worth seeing just so I could appreciate the "other ending" of the series, which at least had applause at the end! I didn't like this ending much better but it did clarify the sequence of events. Just too depressing!
Noein - to your other self (TV) Bad
Now and Then, Here and There (TV) Good Another series that borders on emotional blackmail. Glad I watched it once but I don't think I could go through it again.
Ouran High School Host Club (TV) Excellent
Paranoia Agent (TV) Very good Probably my second favorite Kon, behind Paprika (the endings of both seemed similar to me). Very strange, absurd, scary and wonderful.
Perfect Blue (movie) So-so Good, but I like Kon with a bit more of the bright and happy mixed in with the strange.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Masterpiece My favorite anime movie, actually one of my favorite movies overall. Cinematic and epic, with some of the best characters I've ever met. Beautiful and heart-breaking. Miyazaki's masterpiece.
Saiyuki (TV) Good
Samurai 7 (TV) Very good Solidly entertaining but didn't break a lot of new ground. Good characters, amusing villain and money well spent on animation.
Samurai Champloo (TV) Excellent So much fun and funny too! I'd like to travel with these three for while. Fuu is one my favorite heroines, she's just a normal girl - with bravery and a heart.
Serial Experiments Lain (TV) Very good
Speed Grapher (TV) Decent
Spirited Away (movie) Masterpiece Since I saw The Last Unicorn as a child, this was the first anime I saw on the big screen. I just could not believe the depth and richness of this world and the beauty of the animation.
Sword of the Stranger (movie) Very good
Texhnolyze (TV) Good Strange and sometimes wonderful. Sometimes just bizarre. It seemed to have internal consistency but it's hard to say that I was entertained. More like intrigued or baffled.
Tokyo Godfathers (movie) So-so Sort of annoying at times but you can't deny a sappy Christmas story once in a while.
Trigun (TV) Very good
Trinity Blood (TV) Very good Lots of promise, way too many characters and a fairly complex backstory make a messy series. But I still really liked a lot of it and have decided to read the manga and novels to figure out what's going on! Beautiful character designs though.
(The) Vision of Escaflowne (TV) Decent
Witch Hunter Robin (TV) Very good Another series with promise, good characters, and plot but it ends with a whimper not a bang. Robin is almost too passive and I'm still not exactly sure what happened to her at the end. However I would like to have a drink at Harry's sometime though.
Wolf's Rain (TV) Decent
xxxHOLiC (TV)
xxxHOLiC the Movie: A Midsummer Night's Dream
