Will not finish Rating Comment
Baki the Grappler (TV) So-so Saw a couple episodes at anime club--not that bad, but didn't interest me.
Bincho-tan (TV) Awful Ecch, I normally like cute shows, but this one is so pointless and so designed to appeal to moe/loli fans (with some rather suggestive imagery), that I refuse to watch any more. I can't understand why the fansub groups are jumping all over this one.
Bleach (TV) Decent I normally don't go for long-running shounen action shows, but Bleach provides enough entertainment to go along with the fighting to make for an enjoyable show. The comedy kind declines in the 40s/50s episodes, but the action, if a bit DBZ-ish, is still creative, with swords of all shapes and sizes, extreme spirit powers, and a shadowy, ongoing plot behind all the "We've got to save Rukia" parts of the Soul Society arc. Now that that's over, we'll have to see what kinds of "original stories" the animators throw our way.
Buso Renkin (TV) Weak Saw the first episode at an anime club event. Doesn't seem too bad, but falls too much into "generic shounen" category to make me want to see more. Besides, the "guy meets mysterious girl in monster-fighting organization and starts helping her" thing has been done before.
Case Closed (TV) Weak Saw a few episode of this at anime club--didn't really catch my interest, plus it is WAY too long to get into.
Densha Otoko (live-action TV) Good
Descendants of Darkness (TV) Weak Vaguely shounen-ai, not too appealing to me...only saw a little bit at anime club one time.
Dragon Ball (TV) Not really good I'm sure I saw a couple episodes of this on TV at some point, but I have no intention of finishing it.
Dragon Ball Z (TV) Not really good Same as with Dragon Ball, I've seen some of DBZ on Cartoon Network here and there...while I'm sure that there are reasons to like it, I don't plan on buying or even downloading this series.
Fighting Beauty Wulong (TV) So-so
Fushigi na Koala Blinky (TV) Very good *Sigh* I saw some of this years ago, under the name of "The Noozles"--I really loved it, but sadly, it just doesn't exist any more.
G.I. Joe Sigma Six (U.S. TV) Decent Probably saw some of this; again, this is one of those "back in the day but won't see again" shows.
Gatchaman (TV) So-so Actually, I'm sure this anime isn't all that bad...it's one of the fundamental classics from the 70s that deserves attention on a historical level. Still, to me it's pointless to sit through so many episodes just to get the "it's a classic" point across, especially when the lines, characters, plots, and actions are so cheesy that it hurts sometimes. I mean, this is the kind of anime that "Martian Successor: Nadesico" was parodying via the "Gekigangar" anime. Therefore, I'm relegating it to "Will not Finish," but I will increase the rating from "Weak."
Hamtaro (TV) Not really good I think my brother had some of this taped off TV one time...I didn't see any reason to look for more.
Initial D (TV) Not really good I happened to see some of this, but I can't take dozens of episodes of CGI car races.
Inuyasha (TV) Not really good Ah, the ever-popular Inuyasha. Due to its length and various comments that I've heard, I won't watch any more beyond the random episodes I've seen on CN.
Jagainu-kun (TV) Weak I'm sure that shows like Jagainu-kun (aka "Dogtato") have their place in the culture, and that place is far away from me or anyone else over the age of 7.
Maya the Bee (TV) Decent Saw this on Nick Jr. as a kid; never knew it was anime, and now I'll never see it.
Mori no Yōki na Kobito-tachi: Berufi to Rirubitto (TV) Good I believe this goes by the English title "Li'l Bits," and I saw it on Nick Jr. back in the day. Sadly, I don't remember it too well, but it earns a spot on the listings.
NANA (TV) Good
Naruto (TV) Good
One Piece (TV 1999) Awful (dub), So-so (sub) I know that many people love this show, but the amount I saw of it doesn't justify watching hundreds of episodes. Plus, I'm sort of against long series in the first place.
Ping Pong Club (TV) Awful Words can not describe the horror I felt when watching some of this series. It's juvenile, disgusting, disturbing, and just so mind-numbingly WRONG that I hope to the anime gods that I'm never ever subjected to another episode. If you like bathroom humor, shock-value male nudity (no bishounen to be found here), hideously distorted character designs, and abject WTF-ness, PPC might be worth a try, but if your tastes are similar to mine, you'd be better off avoiding it and attempting to forget that it exists. PPC retroactively reminds me of Crayon Shin-chan, another show that you'll find in this section.
Pokémon (TV) Not really good I don't have that much against Pokemon (and I actually like the movies), but I don't like it enough to watch the whole show, so it gets the dreaded WNF rating.
Shin chan (TV) Not really good Saw an episode by chance on Adult Swim--I sort of liked what Funimation did with the dub, but even the Ghost Stories treatment couldn't save a series that's childish in a bad way, with too much emphasis on Shin being a brat and waving his naked ass around. I understand it's a classic long-running series, well-known in Japan, but the length (however many episodes it is) and the subpar comedy cause CSc to be a show that I'll never make an attempt to complete, even on TV or downloads.
Thundercats (U.S. TV) Decent Like some other shows on this list, I saw some awhile back (in the mid 90s, not as a child), but I don't think I'll track it down and finish it. Still, you've got to love how much Thundercats still stays in our culture, based on Family Guy's perverted distortion of the classic "Sword of Omens, give me Sight beyond Sight!" line.
Transformers (U.S. TV) Decent A victim of shattered nostalgia. Like many other kids, I saw some of this back in the day and loved it, but when I borrowed some DVDs from a friend, I just couldn't bring myself to sit through very many episodes. Maybe I've been spoiled by the animation styles and complexities of anime, but other factors were present--I didn't want to wind up buying more DVDs, and I wanted to devote more time and money to anime acquisition and viewing.
Voltron (TV)
Zone of the Enders (TV) Not really good ZoE suffered deletion from my HD during a space shortage -- the characters were okay but not great, the story wasn't all that good, and the phallic mecha designs didn't help things at all.
