I'll admit that my rating system is not quite objective and is based more on how much I enjoyed the show than in its production values or whatever. I tend to give extra points to shows that make me nostalgic -Pokemon and Digimon are good examples of this. Some ratings are not exactly how I feel about a show, I seriously feel a "forgettable" and "memorable" rate should be available. "Mediocre" and "hilariously awful", would be fab too.

| Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings I'm not going to rate the Madoka movies because I think my enjoyment of them was seriously obstacled by them not meeting my expectations. Unlike most anime films I've watched, there was absolutely no new content in either film (save for one scene in Part 2) and even the animation seemed copy-pasted from the anime series, to the point where I wonder if they actually reanimated anything or just edited the series and tweaked it for the big screen. The editing is superb, they manage to fit the whole story in 4 hours without losing anything that's really important, and the 1st film ends in a perfect moment, but that's about it. I hope the third part lives up with its new story to the absolute lack of novelty that these films were. But I think it would be unfair to rate them poorly since the story is amazing, the animation is amazing, the characters -save Madoka with whom I can't empathize no matter what- are amazing. It's just exactly the same as the series, and I expected at least some new or different stuff like, say the TTGL films or something. | |
