| The first 16 episodes were excellent-masterpiece material, but then, unfortunately, the story takes a nose dive -granted, there are several tear-jerking moments and a few good twists, but the freedom that they took in their altering of the French history rendered the revelations out to sound more awkward than brilliant. |

| Geass is a fun anime with good mecha action, decent political scenarioes and an interesting cast -though Suzaku was quite flawed as a character, background and motive wise.
The problem with the series, however, is that it often relies on contrivances to move the story forward, contrivances that will make anime veterans roll their eyes and some of the turning points in the series are nothing new. It seemed to me that Taniguchi could've used some help when writing the story to avoid those crippling flaws. |

| An interesting setting and good character and clothes design, all wasted on an uninspired plot. and aside from the lack of depth and the coolness factor in the main three girls that you'll be forced to put up with for the entirety of the series, be prepapred for random assaults of yuri fanservice that doesn't serve the plot in anyway. The only saving grace is the returning characters from Mai-HiME that are, unfortunately pushed to the back rows. |

| High school drama can't get any better than this in this work that shows with amazing detaill how scary someone acting out of envy can be. The story is about an altruistic girl named Nanako whose life turned upside-down when she is selected to join a club reserved only for the most exceptional of students in terms of family prestiege, beauty and charisma, but since Nanako lacks all that, she becomes the subject of aversion by the rest of the school and is forced to bear through bullying and cruel rumors. A warning though for attempts at suicide and some shoujo-ai implications, but it's still ambigious whether the characters in question are indeed lesbians or even bisexual. |

| I can see and understand why some people would prefer this over Eva and it happens to be one of my favorite mecha/psychological/philosophical anime that I feel like watching every now and then.
However, my main problem with Rahxephon is that the main character Ayato happens to be one of the least likeable protagonists that I came across -sure, he looks cooler and doesn't whine 24/7 like Shinji, but he lacks the depth that made Shinji so briliant as a character and I failed to relate to him in any way.
None the less, Rahxephon shouldn't be bashed just because it was inspired by Eva. It should be given a try by anyone who's into the mecha/psychology/philosophical genre. |

| The animal -but quite likeable- cast and the episode count might be a turn-off, but this is without any doubt one of the best, most creative sci-fi/adventure animated works that I came across. Aside from the detailed cultural and historical background of each planet that the main cast visits, this anime's exploration of themes, like friendship, religion, love and how time and circumstanecs could change a person is downright honest and lacks any of the pretentiousness featured in other similar works. |
