Reverend Ragu's Anime

take a look at Reverend Ragu's Manga
Seen some Rating Comment
5 Centimeters Per Second (movie)
Alien Nine (special)
Arcadia of My Youth: Endless Orbit SSX (TV) Good Hey, it's Captain Harlock, and he's more than just a deus ex machina for some kid's journey into manhood! He swashbuckles!
Aria - The Natural (TV) So-so The problem with a show being too relaxing is that eventually you're just going to fall asleep.
Barefoot Gen (movie) Back when I was a kid, my parents actually stopped letting us watch anime on this "Alternative" station they were broadcasting JAPANIMATION on, because it portrayed the atomic bombings as something other than an unequivocal positive? Also it wasn't entirely accurate to the way people actually die in an atomic bombing, oh man! Because the manner in which thousands of people were horrifically destroyed is IMPORTANT in determining how moral the event was. (My feelings on the event are quite a bit more complicated, but I'm mainly just illustrating my father's laughably one-dimensional worldview.)
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad (TV)
Berserk (TV 1997)
Blame! (ONA)
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (TV) Very good Oh man, oh man. It's inherently ridiculous and overblown and campy as anything, throwing anything it can out to see if it can hook a few more viewers, offering narrative that is alternately autistic and compelling, and I just can't get enough of it.
Cutie Honey (TV) Very good Satisfying seventies camp, the birth of fanservice, and there's probably only Cat Soup and a few Mamoru Oshii movies that are better to watch when stoned off your sphincter.
Daphne in the Brilliant Blue (TV) Decent
Darker than Black (TV)
Death Note (TV) Very good The most ridiculous thing on television. A constant parade of ever-increasing, baffling absurdity, overblown theatrics, characters who are both omnipotent and the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet, totally inappropriate-yet-completely-welcome humour, and this ever-present hint that they have some kind of thematic content hanging around there somewhere but is continually being suffocated by the ludicrousness of the rest of the show. A+++++ WOULD RECOMMEND.
Detroit Metal City (OAV)
Dr. Slump & Arale-chan (TV) Excellent CRIMINALLY OVERLOOKED.
Dragon Ball (TV) Excellent
Eat-Man '98 (TV)
El Cazador de la Bruja (TV)
Elf Princess Rane (OAV)
Engage Planet Kiss Dum (TV)
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV)
G-taste (OAV)
Gad Guard (TV)
Galaxy Express 999 (TV) Good
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo (TV)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV)
Golgo 13 (TV)
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (TV)
Gunparade March (TV)
Gurren Lagann (TV)
Harlock Saga (OAV)
Hayate the Combat Butler (TV)
Hellsing (TV) Very good
Hellsing Ultimate (OAV) Masterpiece Quite literally orgasmic. The taste that satisfies.
Hit o Nerae! (TV) So-so
INTERSTELLA 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem (movie)
(The) Irresponsible Captain Tylor (TV)
Knights of Ramune (OAV)
Kodocha (TV)
Koutetsu Sangokushi (TV) Awful
(The) Legend of Black Heaven (TV) Everyone I've heard says it sucks? I was enjoying it, what with the whole subjugated former rocker with a family dynamic and the HARD ROCK SAVES THE SPACE thing. Kind of personal, really.
Lucky Star (TV)
Mad Bull 34 (OAV) Excellent So fucking manly.
Magic User's Club! (TV)
Magical Twilight (OAV)
Martian Successor Nadesico (TV)
Master of Mosquiton (OAV)
Midnight Sleazy Train (OAV)
Minami-ke: Okawari (TV) So-so
Mind Game (movie)
Mobile Suit Gundam (TV) Very good
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (TV)
Murder Princess (OAV)
Negima!? (TV) Very good I'd say call it "Pani Poni Dash 2" instead, except for the thread of deviant sexuality running through the whole thing. That just happens to be classic Akamatsu, of course. Shaft can sure make something that is fun to look at, though.
Nodame Cantabile (TV) Very good Nodame is the cutest ever.
Noir (TV)
Project Blue Earth SOS (TV)
Queen Millennia (TV)
Revolutionary Girl Utena (TV)
Robonimal Panda-Z: The Robonimation (TV)
Rurouni Kenshin: Trust & Betrayal (OAV)
Saber Marionette J (TV)
Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san (TV)
Sexy Magical Girl (OAV)
Sgt. Frog (TV) Good This is kind of a show you watch when you flip past it on the television; but, since we're on the wrong side of the ocean, we have to make a very deliberate effort to watch it. I don't think it works that way.
Space Pirate Captain Harlock (TV) Very good Rarely delivers what you want to see (more Harlock,, more Tochiro backstory/hopefully an Emeraldas cameo, more Mime) and instead focuses on our headstrong young protagonist and/or whichever tragic hero of the week shows up, but hey, it's Harlock, and it's an enjoyable vintage show.
Star Blazers (TV) I might start on this again, maybe, if I get a bug up my ass about going through important anime again. So thoroughly outdone by its descendants as to be obnoxious, with all the typical Matsumoto cheese, and lacking either a larger-than-life character as Harlock or the humanity of Tetsuro and Maetel to hold it together
Strawberry Marshmallow (OAV) Excellent
Strike Witches (OAV) What the HELL people
Stringendo - Angel-tachi no Private Lesson (OAV)
Teki wa Kaizoku: Neko no Kyōen (OAV) I'd like to actually try and wrap my head around what's going on in this fucking show without a head full of liquor.
Vampire Princess Miyu (TV)
Welcome to the NHK (TV)
Yokoyama Mitsuteru Sangokushi (TV) Not really good The quality is shit, and it's kind of a lousy adaptation, but I'm in it until the end.
Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei (TV)
