| I have to admit: The visuals are very appealing. Very good cel animation and beautiful character designs. But the story ist just difficult to unterstand if you havent read the manga and the pacing is very rushed towards the end. Definitely something for Clamp fans. |

| Fantastic imaginery, lots of visual metaphors, a daring plot and a superb soundtrack make this an assault to the senses. Heavily recommended for people looking for a heavy symbolic coming-of-age story combined with strong and unique shoujoesque character designs. Not a movie for everyone, but one of my all-time favorite anime movies. |

| Powerful science fiction love story with engaging characters and emotional highlights. The metaphoric ending is one of the better ones out there leaving enough room to everyone's imagination and interpretation of the story as a whole. It's definitely not an Evangelion Clone and it isn't a "better" EVA either. It's simply a very good show on its own. |

| It's not a masterpiece because the show doesn't really break new ground, but as a (love) comedy with lots of action, engaging (albeit a bit clichée) characters and very good key-animation scenes (see episode 12 for example), Suzumiya Haruhi is definitely recommended. Just ignore the Internet- buzz ;-) |

| This is one of the few soap opera series I could fully immerse myself as an adult. It's not only very good production wisely spoken (detailed background art, pastel colors, attractive character designs and perfect use of j-pop/rock pieces), but the whole relationship and friendship-bonds between the characters feel very real. As an ex-echange student at an japanese university I could relate very good to the daily lives of the protagonists with their angsty mindset about their future and love-lives. |

| Artistically and story-wise one of the best anime movies which have ever been made. Yoshitaka Amano's detailed character designs are perfectly animated and fit wonderfully to this strange gothic world. There's this sense of constant wonder, uneasiness and melancholy which are characteristics of true gothic storytelling. Probably Oshii's best work to date. |

Only interesting for the catchy opening by Kazz&Toyama and Megumi Hayashibara's voice as Marina. The animation is very subpar for a movie and the character designs are rather ugly. |
