Medabots (TV) I've seen the first season. It has a strong cast and a reasonably solid plot. I'm inclinded to be kind to the English dub as it could have been much worse (I'm thinking Digimon Tamers here). Voice acting is solid, problem being, as usual, the translation. They said things like "holy medaroli" and "metabee-bopping". Worst of all two characters are renamed "Ms. Caviar" and "Mr. Tunahead". Thankfully these characters don't appear much so it doesn't become too severe an issue. Metabee can also be annoying at times, though he may be that way in the sub too. (The subbed version isn't available so I'm unsure.) Despite these dubbing issues I enjoyed it.

5 Centimeters Per Second (movie) Weak
A.I.C.O. -Incarnation- (ONA)
Akira (movie) Good
Angel Beats! (TV) Not really good Starts out amazing, dramatically drops in quality as it goes on. A tragic waste of potential. Breakdown: episodes 1-5=masterpiece, 6=decent, 7-13=bad, ova=decent
Animation Runner Kuromi (OAV) Good
Animation Runner Kuromi 2 (OAV) Good
(The) Animatrix (OAV)
Appleseed (movie) Very good Fantastic visuals and action scenes are the first thing to leave a mark but immediately the question arises of whether the story can give these qualities weight or if they are for naught. Thankfully, the former is the case; Appleseed is more than mech suits and glitz. While it's somewhat lacking in characterization the plot is well developed and sophisticated. Especially good is the telling of the events this society is going through. It’s a well told and mildly compelling story all backed up by a treat for the eyes.
Appleseed: Ex Machina (movie) Decent Ex Machina wasn't intended as dumb fun, but that's what it is. Undemanding and briskly paced, it makes for a good action romp. Anyone looking for anything more will be sorely disappointed.
Aria the Scarlet Ammo (TV) Decent I began watching Aria as soon as I read the premise that the normally incompotent lead becomes an ace agent whenever he becomes sexually aroused. Sounded like a hilarious even if hollow experience. I most certainly didn't expect engaging story and tense action but that's exactly what I got. Okay, I shouldn't praise the show that much, it’s still descends into its harem nature sometimes but it's far better of a show than I expected and I'm fond of it. What makes it so surprising is that it’s not nearly and exploitive as it could have been. Kinji's disposition feels more like a legitimate part of the story than an excuse for fanservice. There's actually not much fanservice here. Real issue is how it descends into the typical annoying tropes of the harem genre such as the character Shirayuki who might as well be wearing a sign saying "I'm the childhood friend character, what did you expect out of me?" To be fair, even her character gets some decent treatment in the Durandal events. Ultimately, what makes me so fond of this show is that it’s clear the writers cared. They had one harem-fest episode in the middle but right after its like they said "enough of the requisite harem unpleasantness, let's get back to some actual plot!" And they did. What really impresses me about the writer’s efforts though is the ending. Aria actually has a proper and very satisfying ending which I really, really didn't expect. In the final episode comes great twists which provide the villain compelling characterization and help justify some of the more absurd elements of plot, showing it to be better thought through than it seemed. Aria is a pleasent surprise.
Azumanga Daioh (TV) Decent
Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts (TV) Decent Funny, charming, sometimes even heartfelt; why is it rated only decent? It's got a couple bad episodes (namely episode eight which appears to have been written over a lunch break) and the final ST War reveals the whole academic battle system to be painfully slapdash. It does have the good sense to have a much more down to earth, character focused episode after the final ST War which works admirably as a season finale but that can only do so much to mitigate the damage.
Baldr Force EXE (OAV) Weak
Bamboo Blade (TV) Excellent As often happens, this anime falls apart in the final episodes, costing it the masterpiece rating.
Best Student Council (TV) So-so A handful of crap episodes and a weak (although at least conclusive) ending offset by fun characters and a suprisingly emotional central plot
Birdy the Mighty Decode:02 (TV) Masterpiece
Birdy the Mighty: Decode (TV) Masterpiece
Black Blood Brothers (TV) Decent episodes one and two=decent, three through eight=excellent, nine through twelve=so-so
Blood: The Last Vampire (movie) Good
Blue Drop (TV)
Chaos;HEAd (TV) So-so first third=excellent (intriguing, atmospheric) middle third=bad (The more it explains the workings of the world it takes place in the dumber it gets.) final third=decent (Shifts to explaining character backstories and motivations. While not particularly good at that either the answers are passable and it is impressive the number of plot threads resolved and mysteries answered. Moreover, it's a rare anime that provides a real ending. It's still a dumb show but at least it's a dumb show with follow-through.)
Chibits (special) Decent
Chobits (TV) Good
Clannad (TV) Decent
Clannad After Story (TV)
Claymore (TV) So-so The show was alright for the first four episodes but got fantastic for episodes five through eleven. Then something goes wrong. Episodes twelve through fourteen are iffy and then it really descends into shit. Episodes fifteen through twenty six are worthless. They are devoid of any significant plot or character developments, consisting only of one drawn-out, dry battle after another all climaxing with an even more drawn-out, dry battle. The fight scenes are hardly even good. It's twelve episodes of utter boredom. Episodes five through eleven got me so excited I was prepared to name this my new favorite anime but instead it's an enormous letdown.
Coicent (OAV) Good
Daphne in the Brilliant Blue (TV) Good
Darker than Black (TV) Very good
Death Note (TV) Very good
Demon King Daimao (TV) Decent There are a lot of amazing ideas here and it would be an amazing show if it buckled down to tell a serious, motivated story with them front and center. Instead, it's a harem. To be fair, it's a well done harem. It has likeable characters, a tinge of charm, and some funny moments; trouncing most harem anime. It would manage a solid "good" rating if it wasn't for the last three episodes during which things crash. Stupidly, it decides now- three-fourths of the way though the show- to kick the plot into gear. Underneath it all, there does appear to be a story as amazing as the show has the potential for but it with only three episodes the result is a confusing mess.
Desert Punk (TV) Excellent episodes 1-20=masterpiece, 21-24=weak
Digimon Adventure 02 (TV) Bad I'll give the show two points, one for each antagonist. It will receive no more praise from me whatsoever.
(The) Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (movie) Good The plot is convoluted, if not outright nonsensical, but Kyon's character arc is immensely gratifying.
Divergence Eve (TV)
Dokkoida?! (TV) Very good What's surprising about this show is just how emotionally satisfying it is to see the characters gradually become a family. It's very impressive. And that's before mentioning what good-hearted fun it is to begin with. Alright, it shouldn't be left unmentioned that the show sometimes decends into an incoherent mess. Just don't let that stop you, go watch this show.
Eden of the East (TV)
Elfen Lied (TV) Decent
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (movie) Masterpiece
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (movie) Masterpiece
Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo (movie) Worst ever
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (US CG movie) Decent Lack of characterization isn't the serious issue many make it out to be, the characters are simple yet adequate. Much bigger problems are that it has shoddy plot development and an anti-climatic ending (no big battle!? come on!).
FLCL (OAV) Bad Going to be honest here, I don't get it. I mean, Gurren Lagann was plenty crazy too, but that show had worthwhile plot and characters to back up its zaniness and this doesn't. It does have one helluva soundtrack, so there's that.
Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku (TV) So-so The last two episodes are awful, bringing the final rating down from good to so-so. This show deserved a better ending than it got. And no, the ova didn't help.
Fruits Basket (TV 1/2001) Excellent Given a proper ending this would be a masterpiece.
Full Metal Panic! (TV) Good
Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (TV) Excellent
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu (TV) Decent "The Man From the South"=Masterpiece, "A Hostage With No Compromises"=Masterpiece, "Hostility Passing-By"=decent, "A Fruitless Lunchtime"=good, "Summer Illusion of Steel"=decent, "The Hamburger Hill of Art"=Excellent, "Single-Minded Stakeout"=good, "The Pure Yet Impure Grappler"= decent, "Trespassing on Good Faith"=bad, "The Hard Sell Fetish"=good, "The Patient of Darkness"=Very good, "The Warcry of Excessiveness"=weak, "A Goddess Comes to Japan (Part 1: The Suffering)"=bad, "A Goddess Comes to Japan (Part 2: The Hot Spring)"=so-so, "A Fancy Without Honor or Humanity"=Excellent, "Uncontrollable Bluebird"=Excellent, "5th Period Hot Spot"=bad
Fullmetal Alchemist (TV) Excellent I hate the ending, hence I'm not rating it a masterpiece.
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa Bad
GATE (TV) Good
GATE (TV 2) Good
Ghost Hound (TV) Decent Don't bother trying to figure out what all the supposedly sophisticated talk means. It doesn't amount to anything.
Ghost in the Shell (movie) Very good
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (TV) Excellent
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG (TV) Excellent
Ghost Stories (TV) Decent Funny show, I love the gag dub. It can't entirely cover up for its source material being utterly worthless though.
Gurren Lagann (TV) Good
Guyver: The Bioboosted Armor (TV) Decent
Halo Legends (OAV) Weak Origins part 1=awful, Origins part 2=not really good, The Duel=decent, Homecoming=good, Odd One Out=awful, Prototype=so-so, The Babysitter=so-so, The Package=weak
Haruka Nogizaka's Secret (TV) Decent Contra most anime, the final two episodes are the best.
Heroic Age (TV) So-so
Howl's Moving Castle (movie) Good
Immortal Grand Prix (TV) Good
Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade (movie)
Juden Chan (TV) Decent I enjoyed it. All three main characters are fun and have good dynamic together. In particular, it's nice to see a male tsundere. I wish they had gone with a complete role reversal and made Plug perverted. And I mean perverted as in actually perverted, not perverted as in she likes an anime that no one in-world seems to realize is pornographic. That's the worst thing about Ju-den Chan, how much time is wasted showing clips from this terrible show that isn't even sexy. Back to the positive, there is a plot here but its driven forward almost entirely by how much it can get the audience to root for Plug (a good deal in my case). Take the desire to see Plug succeed and there's little left. That said, if it can get its audience to root for her the plot development is satisfying. (Though it should be admitted that the plot depends on the Charger Girls not understanding how their own technology works which is really stupid). Arresta Blanket, the other female protagonist, is probably the best thing about the show because it's charming the way her stiff, up-tight persona continuously cracks showing us her true feelings. Sento Oumi, the male protagonist, is also enjoyable. Explaining why isn't hard. He's a tsundere and if you like tsundere characters you will probably like him. The plots of individual episodes work because the characters are genuinely likeable, even the episode specific ones. Because of this there is good heart here to keep the zaniness emotionally anchored. What's more, all of it works up to a quite satisfying conclusion which is sadly rare in anime. Those looking for an ecchi which doesn't forgo story would do well to check it out.
Jyu-Oh-Sei (TV) Bad
KADO - The Right Answer (TV) So-so
Kämpfer (TV) Worst ever An atrocious harem that squanders a premise with insane potential for hilarity
Kanon (TV 2/2006) Good Reaches the epitome of heavy handedness but its rambunctious characters are a delight.
Kiddy Grade (TV) Decent A handful of good episodes and an endearing lead duo can only do so much to make up for the mess of a central plot.
Kill Bill Chapter 3: The Origin of O-Ren (movie segment) Masterpiece okay, I LOVE Production IG
King of Thorn (movie)
Kino's Journey (TV) Decent My cardinal sin as a supposed person of good taste, I don't care for this show.
Kite Liberator (OAV) Awful The plot of this film is irredeemably stupid.
Kurau: Phantom Memory (TV) Masterpiece
Level E (TV) Very good
Little Witch Academia (movie)
Log Horizon (TV) Decent Episodes 1-21= good, episodes 22-25= not really good
Lunar Legend Tsukihime (TV) Good I'd be enthusiastic about this show if the ending wasn't so depressing. It's still better than a lot of endings in anime though, at least it's *only* depressing.
Mahoromatic - Automatic Maiden (TV) Decent I'm treating this and Something More Beautiful as one show and thus giving them both the same rating. This show pushed a lot of my "awesome buttons" and could have been a masterpiece to me but it would have needed to do three things differently: 1) Less fan-service. 2) Completely re-write Saori Shikijo as to make her not astonishingly horrible. 3) Change the ending to something that isn't a mean-spirited slap to the face.
Mahoromatic: Something More Beautiful (TV) Decent
Mahoromatic: Summer Special Good
Metropolis (movie) Excellent
Midori Days (TV) Decent
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (TV) Not really good A middling, overpraised anime that only features enough good writing to highlight what a shame it is that it doesn't have more. I was going to let it slide with a "so-so" rating but then I watched the ova episode which managed to both be dull and depict Tohru attempting to drug and rape Kobayashi so I decided to knock it down another rung.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (TV)
Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team (OAV)
Moonlight Mile (TV) Good
MoonPhase (TV) Decent episodes one and two=so-so, three through seventeen=good, eighteen through twenty five=not really good, ova=weak
Murder Princess (OAV)
My Bride is a Mermaid (TV) Good season one rates as "very good," season two rates as "decent"
My Hero Academia (TV) Good
My Hero Academia (TV 2) Good
Nabari no Ou (TV) Good While weak at times those weak points are mostly around the periphery. The central plot is solid, grounded, involving, and comes to a proper and satisfying conclusion.
Nanaka 6/17 (TV) Decent Its strong characters and engaging central plot only marginally outweigh the handful of bad episodes and pretentious, abrupt conclusion.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (movie) Decent
Negima! (TV) Not really good I can’t honestly give it a high rating but I’ve got myself one huge soft spot for this show. There’s not much in the way of plot but the characters are all very likable, even those that don’t get particularly developed are enjoyable as they are. Though I can understand if you didn’t watch long enough to see it, there IS good character development here. Talking about watching for long enough, did you see episodes 23 and 24? They are AMAZING, even sublime. Also worth nothing is episodes 15 which I thought was garbage up until the end when it throws a curve ball and suddenly becomes an emotional experience comparable to episode 23. What kept me watching long enough to see the better parts was mostly Asuna who I really like, helped much by Luci Christian’s wonderful performance. (Saying that feels rather redundant though. Saying Luci put in a wonderful performance is like saying the sun rose this morning, of course it did and of course she did.) Now, yes, this show has painfully severe flaws and the rating reflects that. Nonetheless, whenever I think back to it, my mind goes to the things I liked rather than the things I didn’t. That has to count for something.
Neon Genesis Evangelion (TV)
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion (movie)
Now and Then, Here and There (TV) Good
Nurse Witch Komugi (OAV) Awful Ugh, sitting through this was a trying experience. It is somewhat entertaining for the first two and a half episodes, at least. Sadly half of episode three is clogged up with arbitrary music videos. After that the show becomes incoherent to the point of plotlessness. In those two and half episodes it displays a fine cast of even some good character development. In particular, I really wish to see more of that shrewd little girl who I thought was an interesting character. But yeah, a full half of the show is incoherent garbage with zero entertainment value.
Oh! Edo Rocket (TV) Excellent
One Punch Man (TV) Good First episode is pretty off-putting but I got more into it after that and ended up watching the whole show in one night.
Oreimo (TV) Just based on the first season and the ova that followed, I like this show. I had been planning to watch the second season, though not immediately as I haven't been as in to anime lately. But then I had it spoiled and learned how the show ends. Normally that would be a bad thing, but in this case I'm grateful. If that is really what this show has been about the whole time, then fuck the whole thing.
Ouran High School Host Club (TV) Excellent
Paprika (movie) Masterpiece a mind-blowingly surreal experience that took me to where I've never been before
Parasyte -the maxim- (TV) Good
Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea (movie) Good see The Nostalgia Critic's review as I'm in agreement with everything he said
Popotan (TV)
Princess Jellyfish (TV) Not really good Really good at first but turns to shit as it goes on, like so many other anime.
Princess Mononoke (movie) Good
Princess Tutu (TV) Very good
Project Blue Earth SOS (TV) Bad
Psycho-Pass (TV)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (TV) Masterpiece
Pumpkin Scissors (TV) Decent episodes 1-18=good (even the fillers are reasonably well written and Alice Malvinone is one of the greatest female characters in anime period), episodes 19-24=bad (artificially elongated, stuffy conclusion that forces an ending to a story that isn’t nearly ready to end)
Ramen Fighter Miki (TV) Decent A fun, readily likable cast of characters make this an overall enjoyable experience. Sadly, the dry script keeps it from surpassing a decent rating.
Recovery of an MMO Junkie (TV)
Saga of Tanya the Evil (TV) Very good
Samurai Champloo (TV) Good
School Rumble (TV) Bad The show is almost never laugh out loud funny. I can only remember two jokes that reached higher than chuckle worthy. There are a couple points where the writers make it look like they're about to do something compelling and they got me excited, only for them to cruelly rip that hope away and return to the bland mediocrity of the ever-unchanging status quo. I just feel jerked around, frankly.
Serial Experiments Lain (TV)
Sgt. Frog (TV) Good The first minute alone turned my skepticism upside-down. Watch it. (But be sure to watch the English dub)
Shigofumi - Letters from the Departed (TV) Good
Shuffle! (TV) Good I never expected a non-moe harem to be this good. Character development is voluminous and consistently wonderful and, surprisingly enough, the plot comes to a proper and satisfying conclusion. It's everything I could ask for such a show to be and, more than that, it's a shinning beacon of light through the muck that is the harem genre.
(The) Sky Crawlers (movie) So-so
Soul Eater (TV) Weak episode 1=masterpiece, 2-15=excellent, 16=so-so, 17=excellent, 18-51=bad
Spice and Wolf (TV)
Starship Troopers: Invasion (movie) Good As an action film, it's a blast. Just don't expect anything more than action, I certainly didn't.
Steins;Gate (TV)
Strain: Strategic Armored Infantry (TV) Decent episode 1=masterpiece, 2-5=excellent, 6=decent, 7=weak, 8=good, 9-13=decent
Strike Witches (TV) Good episodes 1 and 2=good (well done setup but not particularly entertaining in their own right), 3-8=excellent (terrific character development, emotion, of remarkable quality), 9-12=decent (tries to tell a larger plot, tepid result)
Strike Witches 2 (TV) Decent
Summer Wars (movie) Very good
This Ugly Yet Beautiful World (TV) Bad
Tiger & Bunny (TV) Good
TO (OAV)
Trigun (TV) Good
Vandread (TV) Weak Wastes a wonderful premise by never more than superficially dealing with its subject matter. Want to see men and woman learning about each other, exploring the differences and similarities between the sexes while awkwardly rediscovering their biological impulses? Well too bad because the show barely deals with any of that.
Vandread: The Second Stage (TV) Weak more of the same
Vexille - 2077 Isolation of Japan (movie) Worst ever
Wagnaria!! (TV) Decent
Wagnaria!!2 (TV) Decent
(The) Wallflower (TV) Decent episodes 1 through 21=very good (Trying to add heartfelt moments into a wacky comedy is a precarious proposition yet Wallflower pulls it off beautifully and effortlessly leaving me emotionally gratified by the end of each of these episodes. Moreover, Sunako is a compelling, thoroughly entertaining character; a real stand-out of the medium.), episodes 22-25=weak (Drops the ball hard, has good ideas and does make an effort but is still poorly done, lacking the competency of earlier episodes at mixing wackiness with sincere emotions, generally being slapdash, and offering no resolution to the story. It’s yet another anime that tries to force an ending to a story that is by no means prepared to end.)
Welcome to the NHK (TV) Masterpiece
Witchblade (TV) Masterpiece
xxxHOLiC (TV) So-so Watanuki and Dōmeki make a fun duo. Other than those two characters the show is dreary.
You're Under Arrest (TV) Good
Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files (TV)

The Black List. These are titles that are too bad or mediocre to be worth finishing.

Will not finish Comment
18if (TV) [Watched one episode] Shame that the talent that went into the visuals was wasted on such amateurish writing. By the end of the episode the show's trying to have this emotional climax even though it hasn't put forth the slightest bother to earn such a thing or even just to properly establish the main character, who doesn't react to anything he experiences in a believably human fashion.
Accel World (TV)
Ah! My Goddess (TV) An unrelentingly inane show, from the world-building to the episodic plots to the characters, I just cannot understand what anyone sees in this show. The only thing I found entertaining about it were the two auto club members. And I *really* tried to like it. I began watching the episodes in order but when that beat me down I switched to watching scattered episodes, mostly from season one but also some from season two. Nothing I watched demonstrated any improvement.
Air Gear (TV) It's not so bad; it's just kind of dull. I hadn't distinctly decided not to watch any more, I just put off watching more until I realized I had no interest left.
Aldnoah.Zero (TV) [Watched eight episodes]
Aquarion (TV)
Astarotte's Toy (TV) I don't rate shows I haven't watched all of. However, if I did, this one would fall under the "worst ever" category. Not because it's offensive, as one would expect given the premise, but because it's boring. Really, really fucking boring.
Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts 2 (TV) (Watched six episodes) Pretty much all the worst parts of season one with none of the good. Even that is charitable though. Baka and Test was never an anime that anyone would call progressive in regards to the depiction of women, but in this season the depiction of the female characters reaches the point of being sickening. Over and over they alternate between taunting the men and punishing them (often unjustly), to the point it feels like the show comprises of nothing else. They have no character besides their interest in the men. It's a shame because I did like season one, but this is just deplorable.
BASToF Syndrome (Korean TV)
Black Cat (TV) Sven is a superb protagonist and is so in no small part due to Brandon Potter's dead-on performace. The dub team couldn't have made a better choice. Train on the other hand is a stomach churningly bad character (who no voice actor would have been able to save). He starts out fine and with a lot of potential but once his personality shifts gears... *shudders* What's worse the entire plot revolves around Train, to the point Sven is put on the sideline of what was at first his own story. On top of that as the show increasingly embraces its shōnen nature it reveals itself to be a perhaps the most boring shōnen I've ever seen (and I watched A LOT of it before giving up). There are several reasons Black Cat is so boring: 1) TOO MANY CHARACTERS all of whom are one-dimensional, immediately forgetable (with a sort-of exception for Kyoko Kirisaki who has some charm about her) and play little role is the story; 2) When extraneous characters aren't hogging up screen time Train is and the most I could do then was grit my teeth and bear through it; 3) its plot is exhasperatingly simple and uninvolving, meandering about much of the time; 4) despite all these flaws it plays itself straight. While all of that is true the show isn't so boring from the begining- the first three episodes are quite excellent. Sven gets the attention he deserves, Saya Minatsuki is a compelling character I adore more than its probably healthy to like a fictional character, and the introduction of Eve adds emotional weight as well as enough potential emotional weight to sustain the entire show. At this point I thought the show would be about Sven and the newly emotionally awakened Train (thanks to Saya who, once again, is a beautiful character) trying to protect Eve from those trying to deny her humanity and use her to kill. But no, that would have been good, so we can't have that.
Black Lion (OAV)
Bleach (TV) Watched twenty or so episodes before giving up.
Blessing of the Campanella (TV)
Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows (TV)
Buddy Complex (TV)
Burst Angel (TV)
CANAAN (TV) watched most of it
Cat Planet Cuties (TV) episodes one and two=not really good (laudable use of irony but the characters are generic and plot development inorganic)
Chrome Shelled Regios (TV)
Corpse Princess: Aka (TV) Watched four or so episodes. It's not offensively bad or anything, just standard and boring. Few shows make me feel so apathetic.
Descendants of Darkness (TV) I went into this show knowing nothing about it (as is my usual policy). Immediately I found myself liking the protagonist. He’s exactly my kind of character; funny and silly when the situation is light but competent and serious whenever the situation is otherwise. Now look show, if you’re going to make your characters gay that’s great! But, on the other hand, if you’re going to make a life threatening situation and indeed the whole plot about gay sex (or, indeed, sex at all) when there’s no sensible reason for it to be it just makes your plot laughable and impossible to take seriously. Okay, I know, I’m not this show's target audience. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t disappointed. I really like Asato Tsuzuki and want to watch a show with him as the protagonist. I just don’t want that show to be this show.
Destiny of the Shrine Maiden (TV)
Dragonaut - The Resonance (TV)
Dream Eater Merry (TV) [Watched three episodes] Episode one is marginally promising. Episodes two and three are boring.
Ergo Proxy (TV)
Fafner (TV)
(The) Future Diary (TV)
Gad Guard (TV) Why do they stand on the outside of their mechs? They're not controlling them, there's no seat? They just keep standing there as if the things can fight just fine with them in the way. Already the show had too few points with me and this flaw is what pushed me over the edge of my patience.
Gantz (TV) Five minutes, that's all I could get through of this anime. In just that time, it managed to become one of the worst anime I've ever seen. Poor production values and bafflingly bad cinematography leave the first negative impression, and things only nosedive from there when we meet our protagonist as he's in the middle of lewd fantasies about his female classmates and teacher, only to be publicly humiliated for his erection. I'm not joking. Soon afterwards he's in a subway station lying to an old, lost lady just to avoid inconveniencing himself helping her. AND THEN has the audacity to snap at her when she realizes the lie. That's where I stopped watching. Everything about this show is just so ugly and offensive.
Ghost Hunt (TV) watched one episode
Girls Bravo (TV)
Good Luck! Ninomiya-kun (TV)
Grave of the Fireflies (movie)
He Is My Master (TV)
ID-0 (TV) I watched most of the first episode, quitting without about a minute of time left. The CG character animation is predictably awful and why in God's name should we care who gets to mine some fucking asteroid.
Ikki Tousen (TV) I watched the first few minutes of the first episode and that was the furthest I could get.
Infinite Stratos (TV) Watched the first episode. Despite the marginally promising premise (it would be great if they had explored how emasculated men feel from being unable to pilot IS) it's the typical harem crap.
Inuyasha (TV)
Jinki:Extend (TV)
Kaze no Stigma (TV) Personally I like to think of Kaze no Stigma as a four episode oav. It had a tight, driven plot that really made me feel for the lead and want to see him reclaim what he lost. When the plot wrapped up in episode four I found myself satisfied but also wondering "Wait, what's the rest of the show about then?" Not really anything as it turns out. I plan on enjoying the first four episodes again and again. The rest of the show can go be as lifeless, unmotivated, silly, and slapdash as it wants somewhere far far away from me.
Kiddy Girl-AND (TV) Gave up after the lead character showed everyone her panties and got into a fight with her boss who wanted her to strip in public for no reason. That was half an episode in. Kiddy Grade wasn't a particularly good show but it doesn't deserve being associated with this crap.
Kurokami The Animation (TV) watched half of it
Love Hina (TV) watched one episode
Magical Play (ONA)
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (TV) All the wierdness in this show, past the promising initial episode, is NOT entertaining. Instead, the show is good only when telling a serious story, which it does far too little.
Magician's Academy (TV)
Magikano (TV)
Mezzo (TV)
MM! (TV)
Modern Magic Made Simple (TV)
Moeyo Ken (TV) trite, vapid, and inane to the point thinking about it churns my stomach
Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok (TV)
Outbreak Company (TV) watched three episodes and parts of episodes four and five
Overlord (TV) watched one episode
Pani Poni Dash! (TV) "I'm God, meow" and "It's warmed by my body heat" are strangely memorable lines. Watched a big chuck of it before giving up as there is some good material here, few and far between as it is.
Rosario + Vampire (TV) Wastes and enticing premise on harem bullshit.
Rosario + Vampire Capu2 (TV) more of the same
Save Me! Lollipop (TV)
(The) Seven Deadly Sins (TV) I gave up on this show less than a fourth of an episode in when the main character started molesting an unconscious girl.
Shattered Angels (TV)
Shigurui: Death Frenzy (TV)
Sister Princess (TV)
Sword Art Online (TV) [Watched three episodes] I can see why people hate this show. There was such a disconnect between what the show was trying to make me feel and what I was actually feeling. You could say that all art is manipulative by nature- and this is true- but it's not supposed to FEEL manipulative.
Tayutama - Kiss on My Deity (TV)
Tenchi Muyo! GXP (TV) first four episodes=very good (charming, unique, a lot of fun, transporter captain is best character), fifth episode=bad, sixth episode through what more of the show I could tolerate=worst ever (once it embraces its harem nature it shows itself to be the worst material of that genre, where the fuck did the transporter captain go? so that's why he didn't have any name besides "transporter captain")
Un-Go (TV) watched one episode
Utawarerumono (TV) watched four episodes
X (TV)
Xam'd: Lost Memories (ONA)
Xenosaga: The Animation (TV) [watched two episodes]
