Ah! My Goddess (TV) Weak Not a very interesting plot saw the first 2 episodes and stopped; (Eng sub)
Aki Sora (OAV) Weak I don't know why some of the artwork I saw around doesn't look much like the Animation design. Saw the whole thing and it feels more of a suitable plot for hentai. Animation could be a lot better although the design isn't so bad.
B-Legend! Battle Bedaman (TV) So-so Another attempt by Takara to create a Beyblade like worldwide fame, not a very mature plot; (Eng dub Cartoon Network) (Italian dub Italia1)
Beelzebub (TV) So-so I'll be honest, I don't like the manga this Anime is adapted from. High School fighting with powers isn't my type of story. But for the sake of curiosity I had to watch it. Of course Pierrot studios didn't miss on another rising Jump Hero, Animation was great even the originality of how to take things. But for the first episode, I liked the manga version of telling the story a lot better. I won't watch this anymore for the reason stated above. (Eng sub)
Beyblade: Metal Fusion (TV) So-so When I heard Beyblade was about to rise from the dead I was thrilled. The original and its sequels were few of the best of their Anime generation. I was a hardcore Beyblader, I played, sold and created school tournaments. BUT THIS IS NOT BEYBLADE. The Beyblade system is completely new, the bit-beasts are SAINT SEIYA and not to mention that it lost all its creativity when it comes to change of parts, modifications and experimenting. As an Anime reviewer/freak I have to say that this was heavily influenced by Saint Seiya, up to to the point were they use the same sound effects. Maybe to a new generation this is appealing but not even half the fun when it stands near the Beyblade originals. (Eng sub) (Eng Dub) (Ita dub)
Blood-C (TV) Bad
Blue Dragon (TV) Good Really like it, not something to loose your head after. I immediately knew it was Akira Toriyama's work but it's not something extraordinary like dragon ball.
Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows (TV) Good Really like it, not something to loose your head after. I immediately knew it was Akira Toriyama's work but it's not something extraordinary like dragon ball.
(La) Blue Girl (OAV) Awful Very weird plot, its the ultimate fantasy Anime for those that like ninjas and hentai, not my type; (Eng sub)
Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002 (TV) So-so Saw some episodes since its one of my childhood days Anime. It doesn't have the same feeling the other versions had but still a very unique plot; (Italian dub Italia1)
Cardfight!! Vanguard (TV) So-so Winter 2011, Another attempt of a Yu-gi-oh imitation Anime. They won't learn that it happened once and it won't happen again, you can't top what Kazuki Takahashi made. So basically this is an Anime aimed at Sales, business profits made by the attention the Anime gets, if you're eight you'll keep on watching this. Character designs aren't impressive, animation isn't that bad, as a Yu-Gi-Oh fan I can say the card game doesn't make sense and the only thing that might attract you is the story between character, basically curiosity. I won't finish this Anime, its a waste of time. (Eng Sub)
Cat Planet Cuties (TV) Not really good One word, or two; FAN SERVICE and to the max! I'm sorry I don't have the time with these failed attempts to be hentai Anime. These kind of Anime are only to be seen by Otaku and no one else. The only thing I have to say positively is the good Character design. (Eng sub)
Chu-Bra!! (TV) Bad I can't believe I actually saw half an episode of this...Only full of fan service, design very immature, animation very poor and story not worth the time of our life.
Darker than Black: Gemini of the Meteor (TV) Good Good Animation and design work since the first series of this Anime. The soundtrack and themes really go well with plot. Although there is a lot of confusion surrounding the plot it is still likable and a thrill for any sci-fi fan.
Deadman Wonderland (TV) Worst ever
Death Note (TV) Weak I watched 2 episodes since many were talking very good about it, but in my personal opinion it is too dark and Gothic and the plot isn't very catchy; (Eng sub)
Demonbane (TV) So-so Saw the first 2 episodes didn't impress me much, felt like an Anime version of Power Rangers; (Eng sub)
Dinosaur King (TV) So-so Good attempt for a commercial Anime, guess that's what its really worth. One question, why does a little girl of about 10 years (the main character with pink hair) has boobs? As for the voice in English, guess I never thought Ash's voice would end up here with Yoh from Shaman King. (Eng dub)
Dinozaurs: The Series (TV) Good One of the first Anime I saw on Fox Kids, it felt like there was no end to the story, but there isn't much Anime on that channel that ever did; (Eng dub Fox Kids)
Duel Masters (TV) Not really good If you like Yu-gi-Oh all you will see in this Anime is rip off. I tried to see but in the end that all I felt; (German dub RTL2) (Eng dub)
Elfen Lied (TV) Weak Most of the Plot is about slaughter with puddles of blood with romance, didn't make much sense to me; (Eng sub)
(The) Familiar of Zero (TV) Bad I saw an episode and it isn't what I search for in Anime, magic and girly action, not my type; (Eng sub)
Freezing (TV) So-so Winter 2011, Another Female populated Anime of 2011. Animation is crappy, Character design doesn't look resemble the manga much and the story is boring. Its like Evangelion, Girls Bravo and put it in modern time era. 2011 started on a bad foot, hope it gets better. (Eng sub)
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (TV) Good It feels that because of the world economical crisis they wanted to make an Anime that was sure to get the attention. Its true that the hardcore fans wanted a more loyal adaptation of the manga to be made into an Anime but for me that I don't like the manga version but a big fan of the first Anime adaptation is quite useless to watch, fans like me already closed this chapter of our life.; Animation is very good (on the same level as the adaptation), Soundtrack isn't very special (I think no can top the one of first adaptation, really beautiful) and as for voice actors I like that many retained their respective characters back but others heard for the first time didn't quite match the tone of the former ones. (Eng sub)
Gantz (TV) Weak The plot seemed vague, I would call it sci-fi but not exactly interesting. There is even a hentai scene too I was like "wth?". Very weird opening and ending music and I found it very weird that the characters talk in the heart sort of way.
Girls Bravo (TV) Weak If you want an Anime entirely with fan service this is the Anime for you, the plot is utterly ridiculous; (Eng sub)
Gosick (TV) So-so Winter 2011, An original Anime but its slow paced story is enough to make you lose interest. Animation is nothing special same goes for the character design. However the story is original and interesting which is the real appeal of the whole thing, but it is slow paced and a little far from realistic. The hairdo and the detective story are a little far fetched but the idea of an Asian student studying in Europe after world war 1 is interesting and the mysterious girl makes it even better. You like mystery this is the Anime for you. Maybe I'll finish watching this some day. (Eng sub)
Hamtaro (TV) So-so An Anime for young toddlers, case closed; (Italian dub Italia1)
Hanaukyo Maid-tai (TV) Weak What every young boy wants, this is basic of this plot did I forget to say fan service again? still fun to watch; (Eng sub)
Hellsing (TV) Awful I saw the first 2 episodes and didn't impress me much; (Eng dub)
Heroman (TV) Very good Now the concept came from Stan Lee and Studio Bones likes to experiment with Anime, this one just doesn't stick up with their best ones. Why? well the plot feels much a like an American story, the classic slow development of plot, maturity of characters seems to be almost zero, just not the common Anime story that's for sure. (Eng sub) and in my opinion it was made to be dubbed by the Americans, watch it to understand.
High School of the Dead (TV) Weak In my opinion, this Anime was created for the sake of Otaku that fantasize about Zombies and cute chicks that slaughter them. The Plot is a classic Zombie fantasy and being the last survivor on earth with some of the hottest big breasted girls you know. The only thing that I like from this crap is the Animation and the character design which is close to amazing mostly because they kept the original manga design. I pray for the souls of those that rated this Anime a Masterpiece; (Eng sub)
Hunter X Hunter (TV 1999) Very good Interesting plot, respectively original, but slow paced and at times very boring. I only got interested in it because I knew its a Jump manga; (Italian dub Italia1)
I Don't Like You At All, Big Brother!! (TV) Not really good Winter 2011, Crappy Plot, Crappy Character designs, Immature, good bright colors but crappy Anime. (Eng sub)
Ichigo 100% (TV) Weak If you're into "A guy who's lucky to chose between 4 girls" romance this is the Anime for you, not my genre; (Eng sub)
Ikki Tousen (TV) Worst ever Let the lord help us so no such Anime is ever made again. The babes are hot but they make a mockery out of fighting; (Eng sub)
Infinite Stratos (TV) Decent Winter 2011, It just happens humankind created a weapon and by mistake the only people able to use it are woman. OMG, but don't worry they can't use it in warfare and one Man has been found able to pilot one. So this guy goes to a Boarding School to learn how fight better with this armor. Would you imagine a guy in school with only woman teachers, students... Lets label it "pathetically convenient". First the world concepts; buildings, mecha, rooms... isn't eye catching. The Character designs aren't bad, and even though the story is well presented it isn't that much...ZzzzZZzz...yeah its boring. Dialogue is very unnatural and although fanservice scenes are obviously the main character has a spine, and thats improvement when you see other crappy fanservice Anime. Not watching anymore of this. (Eng Sub)
Iron Man (TV) Good I always enjoy watching Madhouse Anime character design, but Tony Stark's hairdo... They went a little overboard with Tony's hair design but nonetheless they did an excellent job on other things such as the woman designs and the Armors. A decent way to bring Iron Man to the Anime industry. In my opinion some characteristics of the characters aren't American but much more Japanese. Soundtrack is great, got that whole movie sensation going on but the story is too slow and there's a lot more "acting" then story. I'll finish this thing when I'm bored. (Eng sub)
Kämpfer (TV) Not really good The design and Animation are really good, too bad that the plot doesn't make sense at all, characters show lack of emotions and there is no conclusion to it. A 12 episode series full of fan service and "what any boy would want" theme. It seems that the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 brought only these low quality Anime.
Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (TV) Weak 2009, Japan feels like Hollywood now, instead of re-doing old films (not like they aren't FMA, DB kai) they are turning Hentai games into Anime? Isn't there possibly anything better to do? Pointless plot, its just feels that the origin is that of a Hentai game. Not worth the time.
Love Hina (TV) Weak Another Romance Anime, very weird plot not my genre, amazingly the man character in these stories always get beaten by girls; (Eng sub)
Mitsudomoe Zōryōchū! (TV) Bad A Sequel, I never saw the first series but this should be really avoided if you're into serious original Anime. Its supposed to be a gag Anime, so childish artwork, forced laughs and completely boring and a waste of time. (Eng sub)
MM! (TV) Weak So far, fall 2010 has been really disappointing. First an Anime on Adult Erotic Games (Oreimo) and now a story about a masochist? Really? Is there no ideas whatsoever that aren't full of this crap. This happened in 90's too when there was an increase of Romance Anime and Romance in Anime but they didn't have crappy plots and thats the difference. Animation and voice acting are the only things I saw that made me watch 10 minutes of episode 1. The rest, well main fault is of the plot and the character designs which are the typical fanservice ones. (Eng sub)
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (TV) Decent This is the first Gundam wing I saw. I liked the beginning it felt really Shonen but it turned out in the war type all the other Gundams are, just not my type.
Mo~tto! Ojamajo Doremi (TV) So-so Young girls Anime, still interesting plot and not Harry Potter like magic; (Italian dub Italian1)
Muteki Kōjin Daitarn 3 (TV) Good I think this is one of the very first mecha anime I saw, back then there were a lot of them in Japan. Saw this in Italian too, wasn't that bad.
Ojamajo Doremi (TV) So-so Young girls Anime, still interesting plot and not Harry Potter like magic; (Italian dub Italian1)
Ojamajo Doremi # (TV) So-so Young girls Anime, still interesting plot and not Harry Potter like magic; (Italian dub Italian1)
Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN! (TV) So-so Young girls Anime, still interesting plot and not Harry Potter like magic; (Italian dub Italian1)
Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho (OAV) So-so Young girls Anime, still interesting plot and not Harry Potter like magic; (Italian dub Italian1)
Okamikakushi - Masque of the Wolf (TV) Weak The design is immature and the main character is very feminine (not to mention he is also voice by a woman) Animation is of a certain level but the soundtrack is poor and the story isn't attracting at all.
Oreimo (TV) Weak First, why does the character design vary so much between adults, boys and girls? Plot is kind of pointless but I have to say that the character dialog is fast paced and gripping, which in my opinion is the only thing that made me watch an episode. Soundtrack isn't that special, felt like one of an ero-game like this whole Anime is all about and Animation was decent. If you're into these "suppose to make you laugh Anime" this is for you. (Eng sub)
Orphen (TV) Decent Very Particular Anime, the plot is interesting but not very catchy; (Italian dub MTV Italia)
Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl (TV) Decent (dub), Good (Ita.dub) The usual, make new friends, team rocket steals Pokemon get them back and send them flying in space. Pokemon is really great but the plot is still the same as ever after all these years they just got used it. Oh and the English dubbing decided that after how many years of success they need to change voice actors. God knows how much the American dubbing companies mess up Anime; (Eng dub Jetix) (Italian dub Italia1) (Eng sub)
Pokémon: Black and White (TV) Awful When I heard Nintendo is going for a mature lead characters for the Generation 5 games, "finally this story is growing up since 1995". Can't say the same for the Anime. The first disappointment, the first episode, as the narrator says that Ash Ketchum (Satoshi) is still FREAKIN 10 YEARS OLD!!!! OMG WtH lol, which means since 1996 this character never aged a day. That said I still need to praise their budget expense (This is Pokemon they don't have much money, right?) for a better Animation and Ash's character design finally getting a much needed upgrade from the classic 90's style. And as usual, the Plot sucks! Its still that " oh no Pikachu! Who are u? its team rocket! "usual take over the world talk" and we'll get you back our beloved Pokemon" yes its still that, pretty much all the episodes, including two new main cast characters having personality issues. They are making the first series look mature and great. Side note, I just want to express my opinion that this main character's moral, self-esteem and pride also went down the toilet as the only championship he won was a filler. The problem with long-going Anime is that they tend to become too commercial and lower their viewers age making their way down the toilet. Pokemon should learn a lesson or two from other successful long going Anime like Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon. And we could also see a much better work if the Japanese collaborated with the Americans so the whole process of the whole world waiting for their translation works would be faster.
Psychic Detective Yakumo (TV) Good one of the fall 2010 Anime who so far got my attention. Animation is decent, kinda murky but the plot and designs make up for it. At a point you will certainly feel like the story is a Japanese Anime version of Ghost Whisperer. I like it but I'm wasn't hooked up so I lost interest. (Eng sub)
(The) Qwaser of Stigmata (TV) Weak The most horrible manga adaptation I've seen so far. Animation is good, soundtrack isn't bad either but its a lost case when it comes to the story. IF the freakin story has breast sucking and clothes tearing they should keep it and not give us a background shot while we hear the characters moans. It seems obvious that the DVD will a be a different story but without seeing the whole thing it takes out the core of the plot for Tv viewers. It's full of fan service to the extreme and really disappointing for those who read the manga.
Rio - Rainbow Gate! (TV) Weak When I heard this Anime was inspired by some character designed on pachinko machines, "Okay, so either Japanese people will turn everything into an Anime or they are really out of ideas". The last one seems to prove what a mess this Anime is. So we start watching the Anime. San Francisco and Dubai meet and create a place where a 6 year old girl wouldn't be kicked out of Casinos. And so we see Rio, the main character, host of Casino. Now here comes the stupid part. Whenever she passes near a table the customers win a lot of money. Have I been living in the wrong world all along? isn't that making the owner of the Casino loose a lot of money. And would it kill the woman to actually buy some underwear or some other clothes apart dumb fanservice cosplay considering she lives in a huge hotel apartment. I know I'm against fanservice but this is ridiculous. Character design isn't impressive, mostly looks like it came out of Miami Vice and plain and simple, it doesn't make any sense at all. I stopped watching after half an episode. (Eng sub)
Rosario + Vampire (TV) So-so The classic genre of Anime that involves Romance, Fantasy and girl obsessed with one student boy; (Eng sub)
Sekirei (TV) Good Not a very loyal adaptation of the original manga. The soundtrack is fine, the voice actors are well chosen, but in the manga there's a lot more skin showing and the character design is a lot more mature in the manga, the Anime one isn't that loyal feels circular; (Eng sub)
Slam Dunk (TV) So-so On of the first sports Anime I watched; (Italian dub MTV Italia)
Spice and Wolf (TV) Decent I checked out the Manga of Spice and Wolf and I thought; simple characters, good design, fairly good plot fine lets read this and watch it too. After some time it just felt weird then and stopped watching it. Maybe because I'm European that the plot seems odd to me but still decent stuff.
Squid Girl (TV) So-so Fall 2010 doesn't look that good, the second Anime I try and its another disappointment. That said I still have to say that an overall level of Animation has been reached from almost all studios. This may be targeting younger audience so that could be the reason I didn't like it but I have to say, when I was young there far better plots in Anime. So, no fanservice (thank god), animation is decent, plot is immature, designs are decent and overall originality is only aimed for children to see. (Eng sub)
Step Up Love Story (OAV) Weak Very weird story, why didn't they just do it plain simple hentai rather then an excuse of the usual Romance Anime; (Eng Sub)
Stepmother's Sin (OAV) Bad You know its funny to call this thing decent. There were times that they made gif images instead of animation I swear. Story goes mental, the Character design isn't that bad but overall its a total failure. (Eng sub)
Suzuka (TV) Good I'm a very hardcore fan of the manga but this Anime adaptation isn't very loyal to the story's details and it isn't even half of the original manga story. The voice actors and the animation is very well done but the soundtrack is really lacking effect on the storyline; (Eng sub)
Tenjho Tenge (TV) Weak Like Ikki tousen but there are guys that actually have a main character place. But still it has a very weak plot and there isn't much of a character development. But the animation is good that's the only reason I watched some episodes; (Eng sub)
To Love-Ru (TV) Not really good I still can't believe that the creator of Black Cat is the one that helps to make this manga. Romance, Aliens and Ranma like plot. (Eng sub)
togainu no chi - Bloody Curs (TV) Weak First and foremost, I'm straight and I don't dig Gay plot Anime, they're disgusting. I saw images of this manga or was it a game, a long time ago and I'm a fan of the character design unfortunately the Animation didn't create something similar. Rather its a gray animation and its very poorly done. So no, I don't even want to make a decent short review about this Anime, waste of time. (Eng sub)
Tokyo Mew Mew (TV) So-so Original plot but it isn't something that builds one curiosity to see the next episode. (Italian dub Italian1)
Transformers: Armada (TV) So-so It has a good plot but I still like Robots in disguise better. (Eng dub Jetix)
Ultimate Girls (TV) Weak Anyone that says this is a masterpiece doesn't know what Anime are. Plot is pointless the only good thing this Anime has is the animation; (Eng sub)
(The) Vision of Escaflowne (TV) So-so Didn't quite like this Anime plot. (Eng dub)
Wandering Son (TV) Bad Winter 2011, Most of the reviewers on ANN are saying that this Anime sticks out, its treating something humanly really gently...I don't get it. I basically watch Anime for the pleasure of good decent plot, with good character and background designs colored by a soundtrack that matches its story and a high level of Animation work. This Anime doesn't hit any of those fancy adjectives and musical words, and lately seems like its the story with the recent ones. Case Closed, I don't like transvestite middle schooler stories. (Eng sub)
(The) World God Only Knows (TV) Decent When I started to watch this Anime I was like, the Japanese people are out of ideas, but further on to the end of episode 1 I was like, okay its not what I expected and has a certain level, at least in the plot. Many may think this is another fanservice Anime but the characters are charming and attractive without needing the camera shot under their skirts or brush their boobs every chance it has. The gag comedy is original, the designs are nothing special, the Animation is quite good and the plot has twists and turns that make you feel its one of those Anime that you would see without that craze of curiosity or mainstream effect. Just not my taste of Anime genre. (Eng sub)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters (U.S. TV) Not really good Classic main stream Anime continuation. The real thing makes success so lets do more to make more money, THEY NEVER DO!! Its a waste of time, start watching Yu-Gi-Oh! Gx. (Eng dub)
