Ah My Buddha (TV) Not really good Bland beyond comprehension. Only half way through the first episode I was thinking oh my god this is so predictable, it's like watching Ah My Goddess all over again except for the blatant and frankly tasteless fanservice. Seen 2 episodes
Ah! My Goddess (TV) Good 71 - I really liked this show at first, and I thought the OVAs and the movie were brilliantly done. Unfortunately, that's all there really was to the entire series. The rest of the series (and it looks like the second season as well) is nothing but slife where the two main characters have the personality of a wet napkin.

Air Gear (TV) Not really good Pathetically unrealistic. This show is WAY WAY WAY to dramatic for it's own good. In the first episode the character says something like "Maybe I should give up... but my heart hasn't given up yet!" in the context of his first race with super rollerblades. -_-; Seen ~5 episodes
Aishiteruze Baby (TV) So-so I didn't like the art, and seemed way too maudlin for my tastes. Seen one episode
Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka (TV) Decent 63 - (3/09) - Despite how uninspired it is, it goes through all the motions pretty well and would actually be watchable if I found these sorts of shows even somewhat worthwhile. Script seemed decent and the characters were all likable enough, almost felt like continuing to watch it and give it a chance, but I got distracted and lost interest.

Akane Maniax (OAV) Weak Wasn't funny, main character looked like a bad cartoon, everything else was really bland or out of place. Seen 1 episode
Allison & Lillia (TV) Weak 45 - This is a direct quote of what I wrote in this show's thread: I just watched episode 6 earlier today as well. I'm done with it. It's not that I went into it with high expectations, I actually didn't have any when I watched the first episode. The show set expectations for itself with the atmosphere of the first episode, something that it has failed horribly at repeating in my opinion. It took a turn towards a more plot driven drama show that really didn't suit the show's strongest point. The writing for the drama has been substandard as well if you ask me. While it is certainly unpredictable (and this would normally be a good thing), it's unpredictable because it's not a believable turn of events, with far too many touchy feely "we're the good guys! everyone else is either with us or against us!". The low effort on the overall artistry doesn't really help my willpower to keep tuned in. The moment that really made me go "what the hell am I watching?!" was when they found themselves crawling across a giant snowfield covered in a big white blanket while the guard is conveniently looking in the opposite direction the whole time (towards the woods, not the open field); and he must have been listening to his iPod blasting at full, because walking on snow is loud. Oh, and the best part was when one of the protagonists jumped out and punched the guy, but failed to realize that he was physically tethered to some contrived noise making device. Are you f---ing kidding me? Let's not even get into the touchy feely self-help session that happened after that.

Bartender (TV) Not really good 47 - Gives new meaning to the word "maudlin". Although the atmosphere of the show is appropriately relaxed, the storytelling is really quite sad, and it's all just so hoaky and overdramatic it's hard to get into it. Not to mention everyone reads way too deeply into most things. ~Seen 2 episodes
Bleach (TV) Good 75 - (6/09) - I freely admit that I really loved this show when it first started. Well, not when it FIRST started, but I got on board around episode 10 and got really into it. When they went to soul society I could not get enough and had a blast, even though the pacing was... lethargic. By the end of the soul society arc I was convinced that this was the best shounen out there. And then everything else that happened after that arc happened, and it was bad. Really bad. There were punctuated episodes with the Vizards that were pretty cool, but basically after Orihime was captured I lost all faith in the series. Now I look back and wonder how I could have thought this was so interesting. This score is really not meaningful, because it's a sort of average of the first part of the show which might have gotten a 85-90ish rating, while almost everything after the Soul Society arc I'd rate around a 40.
Brighter than the Dawning Blue (TV) So-so 57 - Dear god, so predictable. From the main character's almost disturbingly predictable character, to how obvious it was that the show was based off a hentai game, I couldn't stand it. The whole thing was so cheesy and predictable I just can't watch any more.

Bus Gamer (TV) Not really good 45 - Bland and generic, this show has nothing going for it. The VAs are pretty famous, but their characters are as insipid and uninspired as I've seen anywhere.

Buso Renkin (TV) Decent 62 - Too cheesy, too deliberately stereotypical, and too unoriginal for me to really like it. I think it was supposed to be a parody of a generic shounen show, but it wasn't funny or witty, not even a little. A joke that isn't funny isn't a joke, it's boring and painful to watch. It did have a decent female lead, but pretty much everything else was seriously bad.
Chi's Sweet Home (TV) So-so 58 - (3/09) - Moeblob, I've never used that word before and I would have thought I'd have used it on something less unique, but that's really all there is to see here. It's just a cute cat doing cute things, no real humor, no action, mediocre dialogue, mediocre animation, mediocre everything, just lots and lost of cute.

(La) Corda D'Oro - primo passo (TV) Not really good 47 - Kind of forced character interactions, if you asked me. More than anything though... just so bland and shoujo-y I couldn't watch any more. I wouldn't slit my wrists to avoid it... but I have better things to do in general.

Corpse Princess: Kuro (TV) So-so 58 - (7/09) - The first series ended on a great note, and I never got around to watching this one when it aired at first, but I was definitely going to get around to it eventually I thought. Well, I did, and I kind of wish I hadn't. The animation budget was pretty lousy, though the art was the same, there was absolutely no explanation of what happened between the first and second season, no explanation for how things ended up like they did, and frankly little to no logic for any of the actions of any of the characters. The first two episodes left me genuinely disappointed on every level.

Coyote Ragtime Show (TV) Weak Wow, just so incredibly hoaky and predictable I can barely describe it in words. Every character is a stereotype so blatantly I can almost predict the dialogue word for word. Combined with the uneccessarily overdramatic actions of the characters this show is as shallow as I've ever seen.

D.Gray-man (TV) So-so 52 - This is really a quite terrible show. Perhaps it would not be so bad if it was the first shounen you ever saw, but when it isn't, you see that it is perhaps one of the most generic shows ever produced. I thought the show may have promise at first, but I quickly discovered the show had no intention of maturing. This is truly a 'shounen' show; it is aimed at young boys who aren't highly experienced in anime, with the obvious intent of profiting off the merchandise that I guarantee will be created. The plot isn't too bad, even if it is cliche, and the mood of the show is pretty good... however, that is nearly everything good about it. The main character is the absolutely most cliche I've ever seen, his 'buddy' for the first mission is unbelievable generic as well. EVERYTHING IN THIS SHOW IS A CLICHE, AND IT'S HANDLED LIKE SHIT. After watching this show and looking at the ratings it is getting, I can see why many people would hate shounen fans. ~Seen 3 episodes
Death Note (live-action movie) So-so 52 - Bleh. I couldn't finish this, not because it was terrible (though it certainly wasn't good), but because of the terrible terrible acting, plot changes, and hoaky special effects. Ryuk looked terrible, his animation was choppy and really did not fit in well. The plot was changed in some rather major ways, every single of one of them I noticed took away from the impact of the series and completely changed the perspective. However, the one thing that was done right in my opinion was how the commoner seemed to regard Kira: a little bit afraid, but generally grateful for what Kira does, and cheering him on whenever they can. Although Light's actor does not come off as a particularly 'good' person, Light as a character at least manages to come off as a very determined (if far more flippant) youth who wishes to change the world; as opposed to the anime, where Light is often portrayed as bona fide insane.
Deltora Quest (TV) So-so 50 - I think I'm just out of the target audience. I can see why kids might like it, but aside from the one really awesome giant battle scene in the first episode that is destined to never be topped within the show, it seemed really bland overall. Based upon a generic fantasy world destiny, and seems to do little to try to step outside that context in any way shape or form.

Demonbane (TV) Not really good 45 - Extremely cliche... but that by itself would be ok. The problem was how incredibly hoaky the bad guys and their interactions with everyone were. Everything was so overdramatic and just plain silly I couldn't bear to watch any more. The character interaction between the main pair was quite amusing... but I just couldn't sit through the terrible dialogue that occured whenever a generic bad guy was involved. "I smolder with generic rage" aptly describes the main villian. ~Seen 2 episodes
Devil May Cry (TV) Decent 67 - I wouldn't exactly want to slit my wrists if I had to watch this show... but it doesn't really seem like the kind I'd be too interested in following normally. Too over dramatic for my tastes, with way too many cheesy and forced sounding lines thrown about.

Dragon Ball (TV) So-so 55 - This was another show I thought was fabulous as a kid, but even then I stopped watching it largely because of just how shallow it was in many ways. It's a good kid show, but that is mostly because kids have no standards and prefer lesser quality things in a lot of ways. Seen ~30 episodes
Dragon Ball Z (TV) Not really good Seen ~40 episodes
El Cazador de la Bruja (TV) So-so 50 - It's almost hard to believe that a show with such an interesting main character could be so boring and have so little energy. This show was an effort to watch from the very beginning, absolutely no moment in the first six episodes left me even moderately excited to see what was going to happen next. The music was pretty blase as well. I happened to like just about everything about the main character, but every other character in the entire show was like a stereotype gone horribly wrong. It's almost hard to describe how much wasted potential this show felt like.

Fairy Tail (TV) Low production values, I'm just going to read the manga.
Futakoi (TV) Bad If I were ever going to attempt to write the plot for the most generic feeling show ever, I would probably end up with this show. Seen 1 episode
Futakoi Alternative (TV) So-so Seen ~4 episodes
Ghost Slayers Ayashi (TV) So-so 53 - Very mediocre. Although it starts off very strong, and has a very strong first episode or two, the plot and atmosphere quickly descends into kiddie mush. It turns into a baddie of the week show where the main character seems to have his peak at episode 2 and is on a downward spiral of repetitiveness. The battles are also amazingly uninteresting, and are rather poorly animated for BONES.
Seen 12 episodes
Gintama (TV) Decent 61 - It's really not funny, though it tries very hard. The characters are pretty shallow, as is more or less expected in a comedy. Gag anime are just not my thing, and while I liked small parts about the show, like their whole life style and the girl, when the show fails at its primary purpose... it just can't come out too great.

Glass Mask (TV 2/2005)
Good Luck! Ninomiya-kun (TV) Decent 60 - (3/09) - "Holy shit! Did he just kick that bear in the face?! Hell yeah he did! In the first 30 seconds of the show even! This is gonna be awesome!......... What, what the hell is this?" That's pretty much how the first 2 minutes of the show went for me. It's not bad as far as ecchi harem shows go, it's actually pretty good on the ecchi part, but those shows simply don't have any where near enough drawing power to get me to sit through them all the way.
Seen 3 episodes.
Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino (TV) Weak 38 - This is one of the few instances where a show being compared to its original completely ruins my opinions of a show. This show is terrible, and I can't bring myself to watch any more than a couple episodes, even though the original Gunslinger Girl show was one of the first anime I'd ever bought blind and absolutely loved it. I really liked the source material, and this season does seem to follow the script more closely, but it also fails colossally on everything else. The art is abysmal, even for a low budget anime, the animation is downright bad, and the fight scenes are completely nonsensical and anti-climactic.

H2O ~Footprints in the Sand~ (TV) So-so 58 - Generic school romance in an otherworld setting. It has a few things going for it, like a blind protagonist, how cool is that? I was all ready to watch the show, just for the bilnd guy, but it turns out he regains his sight in the first episode inexplicably. The rest of the show seems like nothing but a painfully generic romance until the last episode (most likely).

Hanaukyo Maid-tai (TV) Seen all?
Hanoka (TV) Worst ever
Hataraki Man (TV) So-so 47 - Its not unwatchable, and there were a lot of things this show did right. However, the rather hoaky and silly 'hataraki man mode' was rather... well... stupid. It's one thing if she changes her attitude to obsessive work mode, it's quite another to actually have a transformation sequence. -_-; Seen 1 episode
Hatenkō Yūgi (TV) So-so 60 - I was never that interested in the show from the beginning, but it was something to watch in the clubroom when we really didn't have much that was new. It's a show that is deliberately over the top in every way, and knowing that it was done deliberately went a long way in my ability to sit through a few episodes of it. Enjoyable enough for what it was, but I couldn't watch any more of it and I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Hayate the Combat Butler (TV) So-so 58 - I like comedy, honestly I do. I just so happen to like comedy that is a little more... clever. One gag after another after another after another (where 90% of them are clearly not even physically possible) isn't clever, it's forced. Nothing is less funny than a gag forced that hard to exist.
Seen ~9 episodes.
Hero Tales (TV) Decent 63 - I hear it's not that bad, but I can't stomach it. It's hard to explain exactly why, but I think it comes down to two really simple things: a really annoying habit of the main character is to repeat his sentences when he's flustered, the other is how the all the combat I've seen is done DBZ style and it seems like it could only get worse.
Seen 3 episodes.
Heroic Age (TV) So-so 57 - I'm the first to admit that most blind religious zeal makes me want to vomit, and the blind faith these characters show is absolutely astounding. They're convinced there's this giant universe wide conspiracy to put humanity at the head of the order of all things. Ok, so there is, but it's all about as contrived as you'll ever see; and if there's one thing contrivances do not make, it's an interesting storyline.

Hetalia - Axis Powers (TV) So-so 52 - (8/09) - I had such high hopes, but it really wasn't as good as I'd hoped for. I was expecting witty political commentary, but what I got was inane bishounen.
Seen 22 episodes.
Intrigue in the Bakumatsu - Irohanihoheto (TV) So-so 55 - It's been a long time since I watched this. Anyone who looks critically at this list sees that I pretty much either love or hate historical shows, and this one definitely isn't in the "love" category. I'm not even sure why I hated it so much, I guess it was because of the combination of the historical aspect with one aspect of Japanese culture I've never been able to appreciate on any level: Japanese theatre ("Kabuki"?).

Izumo: Flash of a Brave Sword (TV) So-so Although this was quite cliche... I actually thought it could be quite interesting depending how it was done over the next few episodes. Unfortunately, I only saw the first episode and could never find more. Now I just don't care enough. ~Seen 1 episode
Jikū Bōken Nūmamonjaa (OAV) Bad 24 - Oh god this is bad. Extremely low animation quality, horrible voice acting, bad character choice (why on earth would you choose the Nuu?!), stupid plot... it's one of those things where the only thing harder than find a redeeming quality in it is actually watching it. Seen 5 minutes
Jubei-Chan The Ninja Girl - Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch (TV) So-so There were a few moments of mediocre hilarity, and even few moments of serious action, overall though, it was not a good combination of the two. It would have been much better if it had been a serious comedy, or a serious drama, but it was all just so ludicrous I couldn't stand to watch any more. ~Seen around 4 episodes
Kamen no Maid Guy (TV) So-so 60 - Uninspired is about all I can muster to describe this show. There's not much too it, MAID GUY (yeah, in all caps) is exactly what you think he is, big strong and knows everything besides what his master wants. "What does she want? Don't keep us in suspense!" Oh, don't worry, you can guess it. If your first guess is "to be treated like a girl" then you watch WAY too much anime. If you're looking at a completely unoriginal show with a few genuinely funny moments to watch with friends so that you can make fun of it, this is a pretty safe bet; aside from that, you probably have better things to do.
Seen 5 episodes.
Kamichama Karin (TV) Not really good 47 - Meh, although the production values were pretty decent, and there were a few moments of genuine hilarity, the humor only exists between the two protagonists, and virtually everything else about the story and the show itself are so cliche and hoaky it's rather difficult to even watch, much less enjoy.

Kiddy Girl-AND (TV) Weak 48 - (12/09) - SO cheesy. Inane references, forced drama, and a plot as deep as a kiddie pool.

Kodomo no Jikan (TV) Good 75 - I haven't made it very far into this series, but it seems to be setting itself up pretty solidly. To be perfectly honest, I think the people who made a huge fuss over this show should probably not be allowed to vote. I'll agree that it's rather unsubtle for a TV show, even by my standards, but the problem lies in the fact that people were complaining about the content, when the show seems to be rather clear on everything. Whether the teacher is interested in Rin isn't really the issue, and it's not really the issue in real life either, the point is that the teacher rejects the blatant and explicit advances of a cute young girl who is obviously interested in him because he sees that her interest in him is likely due to other factors at work than his own merits and he knows that such a relationship is extremely unhealthy. It's hard to describe, but aside from a select few deliberately sexually connotized moments brought on by Rin, the execution of the show seems so boring and typical for anime I just can't find the will to watch another generic school life romance anime, despite how initially curious I was about this show and despite my curiosity to continue to see if there's something meaningfully controversial here.
Seen 2 episodes
Kujibiki Unbalance (TV) Weak 35 - Egads. The most blatant attempt I've ever seen to try to capitalize off a brand name with a deliberately low quality product. This was so generic and incomprehensibly bland I can't believe I watched as much as I did.
Seen 2? episodes
Kurokami The Animation (TV) Decent 66 - (2/09) - I really should have known better from the title, anything with "the animation" in it really isn't a good sign. The animation is really pretty, as usual for Sunrise, but the pacing, dialogue, and plot are all almost unbelievably uninspired. The whole doppleganger idea is cool, and I really thought the show had potential based on the first episode (and particularly the scenes with the little girl), but the show has been getting worse fast, I haven't heard good things about the manga, and it'd be a complete waste of time to watch more if it doesn't become a whole bunch better real fast.

Kyōran Kazoku Nikki (TV) So-so 53 - I'm not sure who these types of shows are aimed at, but I already don't like any of them. Parody shows are one thing, being chock full of cliches is another, but only if you intend to do something interesting with them. Lesson on fanservice anime pandering to otaku: cliches are interesting WHEN THEY ARE USED PROPERLY, THEY ARE NOT FUNNY ON THEIR OWN.

Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~ (TV) Not really good 46 - So boring, so reliant on stereotypes, I couldn't even bother myself to finish the first episode. This is an unbelievably generic feeling story, with unbelievably stereotypical characters that fill every fetish that can be imagined (which I guess is the point since they're idols). Seen 1 episode
Lovely Complex (TV) Good 71 - The accents, hands down the best part of the show. Gotta love Kansaiben. There were certainly some funny parts, but after the first few episodes it just seemed to lapse into typical romance rut. Doubt it could recover from such a blow.

Magical Witch Punie-chan (OAV) Decent 62 - It's really not that bad... but it seems like just another Excel Saga clone that is even more "out there" in terms of plot and execution. Seen 2 episodes
MÄR (TV) Not really good Seen 2 episodes
(The) Melody of Oblivion (TV) So-so I had downloaded this whole show... I got like 2/3 through it and realized the main character was terrible, and there was just so much recycled footage it was unbearable. Not to mention there was little to no character depth to anyone in the show besides the main girl (and even she was really shallow). Seen ~19 episodes
Modern Magic Made Simple (TV) Weak 36 - (7/09) - Geh, talk about insipid, I can't believe someone actually felt the urge to fansub this. A plot with less than zero potential, characters that were about as original as a Nickelback song, and a budget that I'm sure makes independent college films look like Hollywood pictures; ok, the animation isn't THAT terrible, it's just bad. Definitely seems like just a cartoon for little kids who don't know any better. The only somewhat redeeming quality is the droll girl.

Mokke (TV) So-so 55 - Despite what it may sound like I'm saying, this show really wasn't too bad, it was just made for kids. The first episode started off great, and had an innocent feeling with a dark overtones, that didn't really manifest until later in the episode; but that start was ruined by the predictability and silly way the problems occurred and were solved. If the show took a seriously dark turn towards an over arching plot, I may go back and watch this show, but if it does, I'm going to have to hear it from someone else.

Moonlight Mile (TV) I'm not really comfortable rating this, but to be perfectly honest I was disappointed with this show. I thought it would be the next PlanetES, but it was far far from it. I think it just tried to hard without a solid enough script. Either way, I have no current desire to finish this show after hearing that the show just goes downhill.

Nabari no Ou (TV) Good 70 - Ugh. I can't find as much wrong with this show as I'd like, but here we go. The show seems to have a somewhat generic storyline, but is interesting enough that I can't really say it was bad. I guess I had two main problems with the show, while everything was mediocre to good. The first was how the main character had an ability where he would smile and look really pretty and all the guys around him couldn't help but to fall for him and let him do whatever he wants, even in the heat of combat -_-; The other main problem I had was in the quality of the animation, which was really pretty abysmal for the type of actions sequences they were trying to accomplish; it has some of the worst quality fight scenes I've seen in a while. If neither of these things sounds like it would bother you, go ahead and give it a shot; likewise, if you can't stand silly gay undertones (well, they're pretty blatant actually) you should probably steer clear.

Naruto Shippūden (TV) So-so 56 - (3/09) - I probably should have given up a long time ago, I knew Naruto was never going to get any better. I just kept hoping... and I kept being let down, harder each time, that's it, I'm done. I'll probably watch a few very specific fight scenes (like Itachi's), but other than that I'm out for good. The pacing is so atrocious in the anime I can't forgive it even on the rare occasion they put real effort into something, which is rare enough as is.

Neuro - Supernatural Detective (TV) Decent 66 - I like detective shows, but this one is pretty silly. The main female is (once again) just about the only redeeming quality in the show. The show seems to have extremely cheesy bad guys and only mildly difficult puzzles, but even moreso than that is how utterly contrived everything feels.

Night Wizard The Animation (TV) So-so 59 - I don't know what this show is based off of, but one thing is obvious: it is based off of something where the story isn't very important. The story is incredibly cheesy, and the world is unconvincing even within the context of the show; the fact that the characters are all as cliche as Shinji is emo doesn't help. Absolutely mindless entertainment, not unwatchable, but I'm certainly not going to actively seek out more.
Seen 5 episodes.
Nighthead Genesis (TV) So-so 46 - It created a good atmosphere at times, but then managed to completely undermine everything they had accomplished with the next scenes. The attitudes of the characters, the completely illogical behaviors, the "acting" (for lack of a better word), and the absolutely terrible direction for the show, were all... for lack of a more appropriate word: unacceptable. This show fails on so many levels... This wasn't so bad it's good... but it certainly isn't good by any definition either.
Seen 4 episodes.
Nodame Cantabile (TV) Good 72 - I don't think this is terrible, far from it. The problem for me is that I watched the live-action first, and the anime one seems almost strictly inferior. The real draw to the LA was how Nodome really felt like she was a real person who had mental problems she was trying to deal with, while in the anime it all just felt like a cartoon story.

Noein - to your other self (TV) Not really good Wow, this was such a huge disappointment I'm upset I wasted a DVD burning it. The character designs and animation were absolutely abominable. Easily among the ugliest I've ever seen, only the main girl looked half-way decent. The story was also very cheesy, the script was terribly unbelievable, 2 or 3 of the voice actors have voices I abhor, and virtually everything that I saw about the show was extremely childish in every way shape and form. Someone I really trusted would have to give me an absolutely glowing and detailed review of why this show deserves it's ratings for me to watch any more of this crap. I only watched 3 episodes, but I feel absolutely no remorse rating this show. Seen 3 episodes

Otoboku - Maidens Are Falling for Me! (TV) Decent 63 - I can't say it's great or anything, but I do find it very amusing, and would enjoy watching it. The problem is the that there's too many other shows out there that are better, and mildly amusing pleasant little shows like this one get crowded out.

Otogi-Jushi Akazukin (OAV) So-so Not a whole lot bad to say, it's done very well. However, the show sticks very well to its target audience, children. Seen 1 episode
Persona -trinity soul- (TV) Not really good 45 - I don't like game adaptations as a rule, they tend to rely on brand loyalty over actual quality, a trend this show has no intention of proving wrong. The actual character interactions aren't TERRIBLE, but when that's the anime's strongest suit, they can't just be "not bad" they have to be "great". The video quality was pitiful, but it's possible that was just the encoding. Video game story lines are designed to be fun to play, not necessarily to watch (depends on the game though), and this is a great example of that. This would probably be a really good show if you liked the games, but otherwise I'd stick to more 1st or 2nd tier shows.

PetoPeto-san (TV) Not really good 47 - Another extremely childish show with a silly and quite frankly stupid premise. As much as I wanted to find another gem of a relaxing slice of life romance, this was just so straightforward and... well... childish that I couldn't enjoy it. When the main couple touches each other and sticks I was thinking "ok... I guess I'll just try to run with it", but when the teacher proceeds to touch BOTH of them in the next shot and not stick to either of them, the only thing that went through my mind was "..." Polyphonica (TV) Not really good 45 - Just about the lowest rating I can give a show for its blandness, unoriginality, and silly plot execution without the show genuinely falling into the pile of shit that makes it unwatchable even for little kids. Essentially, while it doesn't fail amazingly on any level, it fails to shine on every level so badly that it sometimes boggles the mind.

Potemayo (TV) Bad 26 - This is really really bad. Some people seemed to like this show, but quite frankly, I don't see how this could appeal to someone over the age of 6 or 7. The humor is all cheap slapstick based around the the shenanigans of Potemayo, this midget person thingy that is supposed to be "cute", but I found to be really quite ugly and it seemed to me to have the behavior and personality of a typical pet animal.

Princess Resurrection (TV) Bad 25 - What's the point of a taking a killer goth loli princess that wields a chainsaw dripping in blood, and putting it on a kids network? There's no gore or blood, and the production values in every category are so low it's hard to tell that it wasn't made up as they went along.
Prism Ark (TV)
Project Blue Earth SOS (TV) Decent Reminds me of those horribly low quality incredibly hoaky alien scare movies they made in the '50s. Gets minus two points for attempting to pass off a 14 year-old as someone with a degree from a prestigious college, and minus an additional point for having *two* of those characters. The aliens were so hoaky and predictable I was gagging. I doubt I could force myself to watch this show to save my life, I had to stop watching halfway through the first 45 min eps.
Ramen Fighter Miki (TV) So-so 58 - There were some funny moments, but the show is essentially all slapstick humor and cheap puns. Perhaps good for a laugh if your mind is in "sludge mode" Seen 1 or 2 episodes

Saint October (TV) Weak 32 - While I would have liked to believe this wasn't a kids show... there's not much of a case I can make here. With the hoaky bad guys, generic episodic plot, and poor voice acting (though I really like Kotono's voice actor, something about the role doesn't feel quite right) this is clearly designed as a sort of "mind-fudge" for young kids to give them something to do when they're bored. I did think the transformation sequence for Kotono was pretty cool as far as they go with the black liquid and her drinking it, but that's not exactly enough for me to justify 20 minutes out of my life to watch one sequence.
Saiyuki (TV) Bad Based off the extremley good manga of the same name I expected a lot more. Voice acting was the worst I've ever heard for a serious anime; also, the animation appeared to be the animators first project, it is TERRIBLE. The fighting and screenwriting are both absolutely unacceptably bad. Seen bits and pieces of numerous episodes
Sakura Diaries (OAV) Decent 64 - This wasn't really a 'bad' show persay, I just didn't find myself caring quite enough at the time to find the rest of it, and now I have lost interest in it over time in favor of newer things. Seen 6? episode
Sasameki Koto (TV) Decent 63 - (3/10) - The absolute strongest aspect of anime is the ability to embody and display things that can not truly be done in 3D. One of those aspects is the sort of surrealistic melancholic atmosphere that is done so well by Shinkai. Sasameki Koto does not nearly succeed on quite the same level, it tries to use the atmosphere with a subject that is inherently more angsty: unrequited love in adolescence. It's a subject I've seen done better and less painfully, and an atmosphere I love applied to more appropriate feelings. It wasn't really BAD, it just was incredibly uninteresting.

School Rumble: 2nd Semester (TV) Decent 65 - Underwhelming is really the only way I can think of to describe this one. I hear it is supposed to have a plot, but from the scattered episodes I've seen of it so far, I can't even begin to guess what it is. There are a few funny scenes, but the whole innocent high school humor of misunderstandings and awkward situations is a pretty tired genre as far as I'm concerned.

Sgt. Frog (TV) Not really good 48 - I just couldn't care less about this show. The humor in the show is just about as shallow as it comes: bad puns, cameos, and slapstick. All the kinds of "humor" and make me just want to gag.

Shakugan no Shana Second (TV) Decent 65 - The first show was an action show that turned out to be a school life romance with a little bit of action related drama. Unfortunately though, it was never the action related show I hoped it would be, this wouldn't have been an issue if it didn't give me the impression that it would be from the first episode or two; or maybe I just misinterpreted it. Either way, I was less and less impressed with the first series as it went on. The second season is just more of the same stuff I didn't like from the first show.

Shonen Onmyouji (TV) So-so 52 - Very mediocre. I can't say it's "terrible".... but it's certainly not "good". The main character was pretty boring, and I was kind of into the show until they showed the little rat's humanoid form, and then I gasped in horror as I realized this entire show was probably just a setup so they could make yaoi doujinshi.

Sisters of Wellber (TV)
Speed Grapher (TV) Decent Showed lots of promise for the first few episodes, but quickly lapses into baddie of the week mode. I hear it gets out of that eventually, but the quality doesn't improve much, so why bother? Seen ~5 episodes
Starship Operators (TV) Not really good Hoaky concept, no energy. Blah blah blah, that's nice and all, but why should I care? Seen ~6 episodes
(The) Story of Saiunkoku (TV) So-so 59 - I've seen most of this, I only quit right near the end, which is never a good sign. The first couple episodes were really good, maybe even an 8/10 or more, but after the first arc everything fell apart into the shoujo-mire of cliche and unnecessary drama and love triangles. They tried to make it all political, but to say it was "unbelievable" is a vast vast overstatement to the plot holes and sheer ridiculousness of what goes on. I didn't quit watching because I didn't like the protagonist, I quit because of the unecessary angst.

Strait Jacket (OAV) So-so 57 - Yet another byproduct of a relative of surplus of anime being produced: trash. It's not as bad as most in this category, it has pretty acceptable action to be sure, but again it lacks in all the categories that really count in the end: story, characters, writing, and perhaps most importantly, inspiration.

Strawberry Marshmallow (OAV) Decent 65 - "Cute fluff" is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about it. I'll watch it in a group if someone throws it on, but I'll hardly look it up on my own, just not my thing.

Sukisho (TV) So-so 55 - I thought this show was only mediocre for the first few minutes, and then I found out it was a extremely shoujo-esque shounen-ai show... the one genre I just have simply no interest in watching. Seen 1 Episode
Sweet Blue Flowers (TV) So-so 52 - (7/09) - I'm a huge fan of laid back slice of life shows where life is simply enjoyed for what it is, but I'm definitely NOT a fan of "those bittersweet first romances" and that seems to be all this show has going for it. I was hoping for it to be just about the two long lost friends falling in love with each other or something, but it looks like even if that ends up being the case it's going to be too drawn out, boring, and agonizing to watch them flounder around searching so desperately as though it's the only thing on their minds.

Tokimeki Memorial ~Only Love~ (TV) So-so 58 - Another harem comedy. Despite that, this one focused much more so on the comedy, and there were a few moments I found to be genuinely pretty funny. Of course, those moments were too few and far between to get the show anywhere near the top of the "to watch" list.

Toradora! (TV) So-so 55 - Not the worst show I've ever seen, but arguably one of the least innovative. The execution was ok, but this show was the very definition of "unimaginative school romance". It might have been interesting if he had chosen to go with Minorin or Ami, but this is anime so he has to go with the first generally unlikable basket-case he met over the obviously much better choices he met later.

Venus to Mamoru (TV) So-so 57 - Light hearted comedy that makes very little attempt to be serious. The old "inhumanely strong heroine falls in love at first sight with the main character and gets him to join the wacky student council at the elite school" routine. Nothing new in any way shape or form, but still kinda fun to watch in its ridiculousness.

(The) Wallflower (TV) Decent 65 - It's not unwatchable by any means, and it's got some decently funny stuff in it. However, it's the most obviously female otaku aimed show I've ever seen. I can really enjoy the serious shoujo stuff, but stuff like this just doesn't do it at all for me, no matter how long I give myself to get used to it.

Yonna in the Solitary Fortress (movie) Awful Absolutely everything was terrible about this. The animation was not very good, the dialogue was TERRIBLE, the expressions were lackluster at best, all the characters were extremely shallow, the plot wasn't great; you wouldn't think it would be very hard to just sit through a 30ish min film, but you'd be wrong. I knew this was bad 3 min into it, and after 20 mins of determination to give it a chance, I was even more disappointed than before. Seen 20 minutes
You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle (TV 3) Weak 37 - Bleh. Even 10 years ago this would have been a show whose appeal was limited to tv. The main duo is pretty interesting, but there is just about no other redeeming value in the show as a whole from what I've seen. The action is INCREDIBLY cheesy, doesn't make much sense, is incredibly contrived, and doesn't even break the laws of physics believably. I mean, come on, she stops a car that is skidding sideways with her boots.
