Aiki (manga)
Air Gear (manga) So-so
Arigatou (manga) lolwut?
Bakuman. (manga) ugh, steady decrease in quality... at this point I don't even know if I like Bakuman anymore. PCP arc has made me interested again though.
Battle Angel Alita: Last Order (manga) Like it more than the original thus so far.
Berserk (manga)
Blade of the Immortal (manga)
Bleach (manga) Excellent NEW ARC OH SHI--!
Blood Alone (manga)
Buso Renkin (manga)
Chinatsu no Uta (manga) Man, why does every manga that has supernatural or fantastical elements have to be so god damn literal in every regard? The girl with the magic voice can literally summon butterflies at will with her singing. Want an ethereal and inexplicable element in your story? Nope. Every manga has to be so god damn reductionist and explain everything through made-up science because WHAT IF THE READER DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE MECHANISM BEHIND THE RIFT PORTAL IN THE LION AND THE WARDROBE, GUYS? WHAT THEN? I WOULD BE A FAILURE OF AN ARTIST. Seriously, it's like half of all mangaka don't even know what suspension of disbelief or mood is.
Claymore (manga) Excellent
Dance in the Vampire Bund (manga)
Deadman Wonderland (manga)
Death Note (manga) Masterpiece
(The) Devil Within (manga)
Doubt!! (manga by K. Izumi) I ethically object to reading this manga.
Eden - It's an Endless World! (manga, Hiroki Endo) With THE best opening volume I have ever read, I had high hopes for this manga, but it failed. Miserably. It was ok the first time a semi-important character gets killed off, because everything's all dramatic and such. But then someone else cool gets killed, and then another... and another, until you realize that the mangaka is doing it purely for shock value (same problem with gantz, not that they are very similar) and every cool character will be killed at some point or another for absolutely no reason, really pissing me off. It also incorporates a rather unnecessary amount of sex scenes for a "non-erotic" work, some seeming a bit out of place to me. ----- First time boob appears in Eden: "Woah, I guess this manga is mature enough to handle nudity without adding a stupid comment or perverted character" ...12 sex scenes later: "Really now? the main character's naked, underage sister? really!?"
Franken Fran (manga)
Freezing (manga) Fun, but terrible.
Fruits Basket (manga)
Gantz (manga) Hilarious[ly terrible] objectification of women.
GE - Good Ending (manga) Thought it might be decent, but nope.
Girls Saurus DX (manga)
Golden Boy (manga) Despite Golden Boy in essence being a vehicle for the author's rants about Japanese society and political ideology, the main character is a cool guy and the story is wacky enough to keep reading.
Hatsukoi Limited (manga)
Highschool of the Dead (manga) Ten times better than the anime adaptation. Still not amazing though. And FYI, Japan: High School is two words.
Hot Gimmick (manga)
I am a Hero (manga) It starts out fairly benign if not somewhat generic, but at least read to the end of volume one. I can hardly contain my excitement for the second volume. ZOMFG!
Iryū - Team Medical Dragon (manga) This is Sanctuary-level awesomness with Gurren-level GAR. That is to say, pretty damn good.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (manga) I thought I knew what gar meant. I had seen it all. From solar hands to head-exploding kung fu to high-altitude decantering[sic]. Then I read JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. ... ... ... THERE'S A GUY NAMED SPEEDWAGON.
K-ON! (manga)
Kanojo no Omoide... (manga)
Kimi ni Todoke - From Me to You (manga) Yet another shoujo romance manga I'll probably never finish; it's just hard to find any enticing enough to keep reading. Kare Kano being the exception, it easily broke the 1 volume barrier. Go pick up Kare Kano, especially if you're tired of angsty bullshit.
Kiss×sis (manga)
Kodomo no Jikan (manga, K. Watashiya)
(The) Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service (manga)
Kurozuka (manga) Wow. This is really nothing like the anime. Even though the plot is identical as far as I remember, the tone, mood, and style of the anime are nowhere to be found in the manga. I think the anime had an awesome atmosphere, but that was about it. This manga, however, has nothing going for it.
Love*Com (manga)
MW (manga)
Mysterious Girlfriend X (manga)
Natsu no Zenjitsu (manga)
Noririn (manga) What the hell. Where is all the juvenile angst, rape of innocents, murder on a genocidal scale due to a mere whim, nihilistic world filled with shitheads, and existential singularity of humanity? TELL ME, KITOH! But seriously, fuck this shit. And fuck everything Kitoh has ever done.
O-Parts Hunter (manga)
One Piece (manga) Pretty amazing, considering how much fucking pretentious anime fans hate "generic shounen shows" like Bleach, Naruto, and One Piece. The only thing to complain about is that the series probably won't be finished for another decade or so.
Oretama (manga)
Otaku no Musume-san (manga)
Ping Pong (manga)
REAL (manga) So good.
Ressentiment (manga)
Samurai Executioner (manga)
Sand Chronicles (manga)
Sasurai Emanon (manga) More o' the same.
Shijō Saikyō no Deshi Kenichi (manga)
Superior Cross (manga)
Suzuka (manga) terrible.
Tokyo Crazy Paradise (manga)
Übel Blatt (manga) Despite all of the kind of people I hate liking this manga, Ubel Blatt isn't bad. Were it not for the author's year-long hiatus, I would say it's almost even ok.
We Were There (manga) note to self: remember to read when I finish the anime
(The) World God Only Knows (manga)
