| Shinakoi (manga) | So-so | I found Shinakoi to be somewhat amusing in its presentation, and I thoroughly enjoyed the art style, but no part of the first book reached out and hooked me into wanting to continue reading whatsoever. The explanation of a tanken user's maai was interesting, and the designs of the characters were sort of cool, but that was the limit of my interest. The narration never grabbed my attention, and the absurdity of the action boggled me rather than intrigued me. |
| Working!! (manga) | Very good | It was fun looking at this after I'd seen the show, and I feel guilty saying that I enjoyed the show more than the book! However, the choppy art style and overall presentation left me wanting more slightly, though I didn't leave completely disappointed. On its own, this is a very, very good 4-koma series! I read up to book five. |
