Attack on Titan (manga) cr101 It's hard not to want more. The story is consistently explosive with its crazy revelations. Its pace has not yet let up despite 50 chapters of full speed ahead glory. There are still many mysteries yet to be revealed and it's compelling enough to make you want to hang on and enjoy the ride. But it does feel like perhaps we are closing in on the final big battle.
Berserk (manga) mh356.5 One of the 800 pound gorillas of the manga world. I had hoped to marathon read every book in a single sitting once the series was completed, but realized that might be many years from now and that just wouldn't do. The story comes along at a glacial pace as it is and recent events are strongly hinting that the story is at best at the halfway mark. Another 20 or so years until the series ends? Will my eyesight even hold up that long? Will they survive Elf Island!?!?!? Stay tuned! For years!
Black Lagoon (manga) mh98 An awesome series set in the 90's about a mercenary company in the south seas of Asia and finally out of its massive hiatus! An excellent framework for the anime series, but surprisingly lacks some of the pacing and refinement of that medium. The manga is a bit edgier than the anime series however. The Dance of the Dead is finally over and the end could not have come any sooner. At least now they can animate a third season but honestly, I was not terribly impressed with the most recent arc but I'm sure the anime will refine some of the manga's flaws. Given the episodic nature of the series, it's hard to see a stopping point, but also hard not to imagine that the series can't end at a moment's notice, even if the latter is not very likely. The current arc certainly helps grow Benny's character. I just wish that it didn't take TWO MONTHS between chapters that are less than two dozen pages long!
Bleach (manga) c479 I've been following the anime for years now, figured I might as well give the manga a shot and see how it feels reading it almost continuously without filler arcs. It certainly does a lot to improve the pacing, especially given that I don't have to worry about waiting for the next issue. That is, until I hit the wall and now am stuck waiting for the relatively slow pace of the manga to play itself out. It will be interesting to see how this thing plays out, but it almost feels like the manga is now well past the halfway point, likely past the 75% completed mark. Granted if it stays popular enough Tite Kubo could continue to write his cash cow, but I think it's getting to the point where they need to finish up the battles and let this one finally come to an end. I really, really wish it would end now. Really, what do they have left to uncover about Ichigo... Short of revealing more bankais and whatnot, or introducing a whole new story arc not related to the story told so far, it would seem to be pretty much over.

Inside Mari (manga) cr75. Creepy. As if his title Flowers of Evil hadn't already hinted at what sort of sick and twisted stories he conjures up wasn't enough of a hint at what laid before me in this title. As if I thought it would remain a somewhat reserved title, that is until the other shoe finally dropped. This man has some issues and taking a trip inside his head is rather frightening. I'm pretty sure I figured out what the deal is, and the most recent chapter seems to re-enforce that theory. It's twisted, but it's the kind of thing you just have to stick around to see how it unfolds.

My Wife is Wagatsuma-san (manga) cr6-3 Surprisingly entertaining without being perverse for perversion's sake. Very little proper fan service to see. It's a fairly light hearted comedy and seeing the main character twist and turn trying to get things his way are amusing to see. Will definitely finish this out.
