According to the official Hanaukyo Maid Team website a sequel entitled "Hanaukyo Maid Tai La Verite" will be broadcast in Japan starting in April 2004. Subtitled "A True Smile" the sequel series will apparently stand on its own and be enjoyable for people who have not seen the original series.
Gonzo Digimation is producing a new TV series based on Akira Kurosawa's The Seven Samurai. "Samurai 7" will be directed by Toshifumi Takizawa and will feature character designs by Hideki Hashimoto and mechanical designs by Makoto Kobarashi. Samurai 7 is due out in the late spring.
Yumeta's OVA sequel, Animation Runner Kuromi 2, originally due out this past summer, will finally be released in Japan on January 28th.
Lastly, the anticipated sequel to Jubei-chan, Jubei-chan 2 ~Siberia Yagyuu no Gyakushuu~ (Siberia Yagyu's Counterattack), will premier in January. The official (Japanese) Jubei-Chan 2 website can be visited at j2.bz.
