Hmm... again, I expected this to sell more.

Oh well, guess these recent releases (Nanoha/Haruhi/Gundam 00/etc) just show how hard it is to break 100k first week combined sales, since i don't think any of them managed to break that barrier.

And it also shows just how much clout Eva has since it had around 650,000 combined first week sales with 2.22.

Caught a glimpse at NYAF, and unfortunately it was just a piece of trash in comparison with both the TV series and the rest of the gundam franchise. The show reverts to Seed Destiny level.

In fact I'm actually surprised it sold so many.

Well, considering Seed and Destiny are some of the highest selling anime series ever in Japan... not sure why you would expect it to sell poorly.

I am looking forward to sesing the film version of Gundam00 since I just finish watching the series on SYFY Ani-Monday and like the series. I hope they did a good script for the movie since they will have to conpress the story for the time aloud. Cool

Coolest Gundam movie ever, Hands Down! A must buy for all Gundam 00 fans. They have HD clips up on youtube right now.
If you can watch those clips and still not enjoy the movie. There is something wrong with your soul.

I would have to say the drop in quality happened during the second season when they removed the fact that both sides of the war where portrayed sympathetically, and they tried to tell me that war can be simplified into being caused entirely by misunderstanding. Also 00 Raiser is way to overpowered.

Honestly, every thing I've herd about this movie makes me think its not going to be any different from the TV series. Then again, I thought the TV series was a piece of trash. I'll still watch it to see for my self I guess. Who knows? Maybe I'll end up enjoying it.

An overpowerd mecha in an AU Gundam series? I'm shocked.

I thought 00 was the best Gundam series I've seen in years. I'm looking forward to the movie.

Otaku sales tend to happen day-date, then soon drop off a cliff.

Mainstream sales tend to continue throughout - and that's how a home video gets legs.
