CRAP.

Gakuen Alice, VB Rose, and Maid-sama were what I was getting from them. VB Rose was almost done, too.

I don't get it, weren't they going to redo their website and everything, with now easy to find print on demand?

Eff this, I'm so mad right now.

This is extremely very not good. I have a lot of things I buy from them...guess I should buy the books I want from them before they go out of print.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Come on, I need 2 more volumes of VB Rose! I can't believe it. I'm reading Gakuen Alice and Maid-sama too.

I wonder if this will affect Blu as well? I was looking forward to more Junjo in the future.

Thanks Levy, what a GREAT job you've done at TP... Mad

There goes that final volume of Alice in the Country of Hearts scheduled for July... :[

And really, who keeps giving Stu Levy money? I'm really glad he'll be giving proceeds for this new documentary to the people in Japan, but someone is obviously still funding him. :/ Apparently running a company into the ground with awful management skills isn't a good enough reason to not give people money.

At least Stu will be out of the business (I hope) now so it's not like this won't bring anything positive with it. I'm glad that the only thing I am currently collecting form them is Aria which I already had given up hope of ever completing so it's just a minor sting for me personally.

What the... I hope they finish the Secret Notes of Lady Kanoko but I'm not going to hold out for that. I'll miss Maid Sama too, although I'm surprised Viz didn't pick it up before them. Hopefully they'll rescue it. Maybe there'll be an uprising and the staff will throw out "DJ Milky" then TP can get back to publishing decent manga, not crap like "America's greatest weeaboo." </rant>

Edit: I agree about Alice in the Country of Hearts. So annoying D: I was also thinking about starting Sky Blue Shore and the Stellar Six. Guess I'll not bother now. I'm just glad I managed to get Eensy Weensy Monster.

Well, this really sucks. Was really hoping they'd at least get that last volume of Saiyuki Reload out.

Between this and the whole "last" volume of Gintama thing, expect much "I'M NEVER BUYING ENGLISH MANGA EVAH AGAIN!" whining...

And now who is going to rescue license Gakuen Alice, V.B. Rose, Alice in the Country of Hearts, Jyunjyo Romantica and Sekaiichi Hatsukoi? I'm so disappointed. I am not really that worried about their BL titles as there's chance for them to be rescued but what about the other titles? Bad news!

How many people are losing their jobs because of this?

I didn't love Tokyopop, but man...another loss for the manga community nonetheless.

This is terrible! Alice in the Country of Hearts only has 1 volume left! And the Tokyopop online store still isn't open?
How can they do this to us....?

The issue with Stu more than anything else, things catch his attention and then he moves on to the new thing before ever finishing the old thing.

Plenty of things Tokyopop did early, but they never kept leveraging them when it became popular.

They had a social based site before that was normal, but they never updated the design etc (an ugly terrible site mind you.... but still technically true.)

They had digital copies of stuff before most, but then never updated those, etc.

It's to bad he can't focus on stuff before moving on to something new.

I think they were down to a skeleton staff of 6 or something at last count, and using freelancers heavily.
