Sounds like a crude way to generate sales.
Just my opinion of course.

I just hope it gets something of an ending at episode 12 and doesn't leave us hanging for a few months. It's not an amazing show, but it is fun and easy to follow.

Seriously? Shaft stuff gets delayed all the time, they don't need to make up excuses that aren't true. The earthquake probably did take place during production of the show.

I could understand a delay but it sounds like they are not planning to air the last episode at all.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that last week's eppie didn't seem to be fansubbed.

Recall that ANN already reported that this would happen, a week before the show premiered.

I think the author is just trying to get money where he can because as soon the episode it's only a matter of time before it's uploaded to the internet and eventually widely available for free.

But I am just guessing here and it may be a completely different reason as well.

So what?

The show is already selling quite well, and like other said, they announced they wouldn't be broadcasting all 13 eps before the show started. This is just confirmation that the episode wasn't thrown in the trash and fans will get to see it eventually.

"The author"? This is a decision that is going to be made by StarChild, the production company. There's no reason to believe they're lying.

You mean "Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko"Production Committee, a single producer is very rare in anime.
Starchild/King Records is the pubisher. TBS are likely going to make the decision on how many broadcast slots it gets, the TV station should logicaly control that.

There wasn't space of the broadcast schedule is a good enough reason to do this. This wasn't sudden or unplanned, as has been pointed out, we knew ep 13 was DVD/BD only back in December. They've simply writen a 13 ep show and then only been given 12 broadcast slots.

Well, if we recall the last time SHAFT decided to show the last, unaired episode via webcast then perhaps it would be better if they just released it on bluray.

Imagine if an American show did that? They'd be accused of blue-balling. Laughing

....and yet another SHAFT series is not finished in time to air when it's supposed to. What a surprise. Rolling Eyes

This company couldn't meet a deadline to save it's life, and no I don't buy the earthquake excuse either considering their track record. Either way though I'm a patient person I can wait.
