The delay on Infinite Stratos might mean they are dubbing that, in which case I don't mind waiting a bit.
That's what I'm hoping for, most of their non dubbed shows are released fairly quick after being announced and this was announced almost a year ago.

The show just being releases in Japan like... last month o_0

Confused Not sure what you're talking about or what this has to do with this show potently getting a dub? The first volume was released in March on DVD and BR, and the final volume was released last month.

I'll be preordering ef ~ a tale of memories on blu ray soon. I'm really excited about this title. Can't wait for melodies to come out, too. Hopefully, that's not far behind.

I am looking forward to replacing my bootleg copy of Akikan with a real one. Really like that anime a lot. I watched the shit out of that show.

Sorry, should have double checked the post. I meant that it just finished being released last month. Although, the OVA thing isn't released till later this week.

There shouldn't be any complaining as far as Infinite Stratos release for at least 6 months, which was basically my point.

Okay, I see what you're getting at and I agree( for the record I wasn't complaining). I just stated that I can't wait for IS, and that based on the fact that it's taking longer to come out compared to some of Sentai's other shows that makes me hopeful there will be a dub.

And the Town Moves and Ef-A Tale of Memories for me, although I don't know if I'll get them right away since my bank account might still be recovering from XMas.

What I find most amusing about that Ef cover is that they forgot to edit out Yuuko's hair from when she's on the spine of the R2 box.

They either need to flip it and put Yuuko on the spine/back, edit it out, or use a new cover, because it looks really funny to have that random chunk of hair there. I'm a fan of this cover personally.

Oh wow, I may get ef quicker than I thought. They actually put the more interesting girl in front with little miss amnesia eyepatch girl in the background.

That patch of hair does look quite silly though Anime hyper

For the curious, The World God Only Knows Season 1 release does include episode 0.

Sort of necro, but I was about to post this in the general BD thread when I remembered this thread existed....

Anyway, after TRSI's recent sale, I picked up ef on BD and popped it in this weekend. I noticed a couple quality issues...

One is pretty minor, but euphoric field (the Engrish song used as OP/ED) has two different versions with slightly different lyrics in at least one line, and the subtitles for the song use the wrong version of the lyrics, at least in every episode so far (I got to 5 or 6). Pretty minor, but I caught it.

The other is that many of the gradients in the art have heavy banding going on... like, it's distractingly bad in some places, and I'm sure it's not my TV doing it. (For example, comparing 8bit rips vs.10bit rips vs. the BD itself of Madoka, the banding in several scenes that was obvious in the 8bit rips was much harder to see on my TV in the 10bit rips and is as good as gone on the BD itself.)

Other than this, the image quality is pretty good; ef has a lot of really beautiful and colorful artwork in addition to the rapid-fire, can't-look-away Shinbo/SHAFT art style, and overall I think the BD treatment does it all justice; the linework is good, the colors are vibrant... just, ef has a lot of textureless artwork (closeups of faces, solid/gradient backgrounds, etc.) and those heavily banded gradients are really distracting. Has anyone else noticed this?

It's the Japanese Volume 1 LE, not anything Sentai released. I got it on Ebay for $20 from sanikamina, a guy who sells R2 releases really cheap.

He actually has another one for $30 if you really want on. It comes with a lot of stuff, if extras entice you.
