The following titles have been rejected because they are not anime and not even remotely related to anime or manga:

Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV)
The Batman (TV)
Batman Beyond (TV)
Ben 10 (TV)
The Boondocks (TV)
Broken Saints (Direct-to-Video)
The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury (Direct-to-Video)
Code: Lyoko (TV)
Di-Gata Defenders (TV)
eSurance.com (TV Commercial)
Gorillaz (Music Video Series)
Jackie Chan Adventures (TV)
Kappa Mikey (TV)
The Life and Times of Juniper Lee (TV)
Mad Jack the Pirate (TV)
Martin Mystery (TV)
Rebelde (Mexican comic)
Spawn: The Animated Series (TV)
Star Wars: Clone Wars (TV)
Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! (TV)
Teen Titans (TV)
Tiny Toon Adventures (TV)
Titan A.E. (movie)
Totally Spies! (TV)
Ultimate Avengers (Direct-to-Video)
Ultimate Avengers 2 (Direct-to-Video)
Van Helsing: The London Assignment (Direct-to-Video)
W.I.T.C.H. (TV)
Wulin Warriors (TV)
Xiaolin Showdown (TV)
Yin Yang Yo! (TV)

Many of them may look Asian (especially Teen Titans, which uses a lot of anime art styles), but there's just no place for them on the ANN Encyclopedia.

On another note, Megas XLR is not listed on the Encyclopedia, despite using numerous references to anime titles. I'll let the higher-ups decide on whether or not it should be listed.

Also, Invader Zim may be distributed on DVD by Media Blasters, but it still isn't anime.

In addition, while season 2 of The Boondocks was co-animated by Madhouse, we're still not adding it on the Encyclopedia.

It'd probably do well in the "Not anime, but related" category, as it's technically not anime, yet as you said features numerous parodies & references to everything from Gundam to Macross to Harlock to Sailor Moon (Gatchaman, Voltron...).

What about Heavy Metal and Heay Metal 2000? I mean if a show like Aeon Flux is in the database then both should be there also.

Aeon Flux is in the Encyclopedia mainly because of Peter Cheung, who worked on The Animatrix and Reign: The Conqueror.

As for the Heavy Metal movies, there is no direct connection between them and anime.

The theme of this month's issue of fps Magazine is "Defining Anime". It can be downloaded here (pdf).

I just recently discovered this magazine, but I think it's a must
for any animation enthusiast. It's anime reviews have been some of the best I've read.

EDIT: Added The Boondocks (TV) to the list. One user has already been warned about adding it to the Encyclopedia.

What about Silver Hawks? It's on a similar situation with Thundercats since it was mostly animated by asians, I think mostly Korean animators.

SilverHawks was Japanese animated like Thundercats. At this time, we're not including it on the Encyclopedia yet, but we'll consider it.

EDIT: It's now available on the Encyclopedia.

Seems like it's called:
Chîsana baikingu Uiki

Heh, mustv'e missed it or something with the colossal amount of anime titles already listed.

Oh, I was wondering how come Zenki TV doesn't have it's manga counterpert in ANN? I personally have a few issues of the manga and it's a very well drawn shounen manga (though I think it has too much nudity for my taste).
