I hope this doesn't mean he thinks he can go on break again...

Is he boasting about this? It's as if he is proud of waiting 20+ installments of Shonen Jump for the next chapter.

I completely understand that he was ill from the extremely strenuous workload of a mangaka, but I don't know if that's something to be proud about.

Shame on you Togashi for even acknowledging the "hiatus list" or setting records for it. Try to act more like your peers!

Quote:
According to Weekly Shonen Jump vol.7, Togashi Yoshihiro has renewed his record of the consecutive publications of Hunter x Hunter. He has been published the manga for 21 consecutive issues since August 8th 2011. The previous record of 20 issues was accomplished from January 2010 to June 2010. The longest hiatus for 79 issues was made from February 2006 till October 2007.
Togashi said he will keep on publishing Hunter as long as possible to encourage people in the disaster area of Tohoku Earthquake.

Good thing Togashi didn't stop after only 20 chapters this time around, because both parallel storylines that started after the end of the Chimera Ants arc seem to be headed for a climax pretty soon. The new anime's good ratings must have motivated him, too.

I was going to post this Sad

But on the subject of Hunter x Hunter,... I want more! More pleeeaaase!

I pray every week that I won't be reading a headline on ANN, "Yoshihiro Togashi taking another hiatus!"

Well, there hasn't been a new Dragon Quest game in a while, what with Dragon Quest X being the title a lot of the work is being put toward...

Woah okay 0_o ...>

I love this manga like everyone else but take a chill pill! I have no idea of the details of his hiatus (hardly anyone does). So without knowing deatils... calling someone a bum seems really ungrateful! I bet a good portion of you read his work for free anyway!

As in 20 chapters?
Sheesh.

Would they let him get away with that if it wasn't for its success/popularity?
