You can honestly say you like Asuka's dub voice? That surprises me...A LOT. Do you also like Excel's dub voice?

it will probably be subtitled

They're obviously not 100% commited to this idea. As nice as it would be for sub fans, it is not a good idea at all. Not everyone watching AS is a hardcore anime fan who would enjoy the subs. Some people wont wanna read, and even though it is Adult Swim, it's on a Saturday. Kids will watch. When they see words on the bottom and hear them speaking another language, they wont.

And I actually enjoy the Eva dub alot.
Beck isnt even licensed, why would that be the show??

Hey, I love Tiffany Grant as Asuka as well. The actress that did Asuka in the Japanese makes me want to scream. And I like her other work.

Oh man, you all really like Asuka's dub voice? That voice makes me sick. The Japanese one was perfect. The dubbed Excel was horrid, though, much worse than the dub Asuka. I'd rather snap the DVD in half than have to listed to Excel's dub voice. The Japanese Excel voice was also perfect.

Subtitles on Adult Swim? Never thought I'd see the day... er, night when this would happen. I hope they're not just bullshitting us to make anime fans look stupid. I was thinking the series would be Eva, but it's been confirmed that that series is airing dubbed (plus, the subbed version airs on The Anime Network). I know nothing of this Beck anime, (aside from a review of the first manga volume my friend wrote up) but maybe it'll be that because of all the Engrish that's supposedly in it.

Heh, what if it was DBZ? Shocked

My money is on Beck since it's already half in English and it would be very difficult to dub in the first place.

Half of it may already be in English, but half of that English can't be aired on television.

They could easily bleep out the curse words. It would actually make it a bit funnier if they did that.

Maybe it's a series that has no dub.

Like Urusei Yatsura...

Or KOR

But the chances of Anime Emigo landing a tv deal are pretty slim.

City Hunter. Laughing Nah, really, don't you dare AS. I image it'll be a pretty short series, atleast to test the water.

People, let's try not make this in Dub VS Sub topic. That's so '90s. Besides, Tiffeny Grant did a fine Asuka and Excel, but IMO.

This is a long shot, but maybe, just maybe, it's Beck. The series could be extremely popular due to it's theme however with all the engrish, english, and japanese flying all over the place it would be difficult to dub. Subs would be ideal.

As much as I would like that, Beck will never reach Adult Swim uncut because of all the f-bombs.

But hearing all the Bleeps would be rather funny.

I really hope that whenever subbed anime is aired it'll be publicized, because I'll make sure to watch it whatever it is to help the ratings. Everyone else that likes their anime in Japanese should do the same, to show them that there's an audience for anime that isn't dubbed. Yes. Very Happy Even if you don't like the anime itself, maybe just leave the TV on that station. Anime hyper
