Why offer Pokémon that are already available in the game?

Usually the pokemon have moves that they don't normally learn in the games or they are able to unlock something within the game for you to use. Its nice to see more of the event pokemon making it over here. Chances are high we'll get the genie trio.

I believe it's a typo. It should be Zekrom to Black and Reshiram to White, thus making the legendary unavailable in one available. Source: http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml |

So you can have two of them! Well, that and it saves you the trouble (and Pokéballs) of having to catch them. With this event, it also gives you the other mascot without having to trade for it. Then again, who in their mind would trade legendary Pokémon? |

For those not so aware, the Reshiram will know the move Mist and the Zekrom will know Haze, both moves not normally being able to be learned by either of them.

Besides these being the opposite-mascot Pokemon (i.e. the one that you can't get in your game), and having event-exclusive moves, they also unlock extra stuff in the Dream World [a C-Gear skin matching the Pokemon, and a new area(?)].

YES!!
I was planning to wait for Black2 to see if I could get Zekrom in that one, but I'm so glad they're doing this! Now I don't have to use the GTS or buy another game for it! |

I assume these are the Satoshi's Zekrom and Satoshi's Resharim that were released along side other movie Pokemon back when [Victini and the Black Hero Zekrom] was released last July, only changed so any relation to the movie is removed.
Wonder if they'll bother with the other movie Pokemon. |

Dragon Gems are semi-common items that you can get from dust clouds in caves. They're a one-time-use items that, when held, boost that type of attack (first attack used of that type).
And yes, the Reshiram and Zekrom are identical to last year's Movie ones, and give access to the Pokemon Movie area of the Dream World (I got a notice on my board last night that it had been added, even if I can't access it until I get the pokemon), and the C-Gear skins gotten through that area. |
