Actually, I checked the Japanese website and Oichi DOES star in the manga... at least in the sense of her story being first. The format is "sub stories" of generals & pokemon across six novels, so I presume that computes as "short stories". It's not explained if the stories are interconnected or not. Since she was specifically asked about, I thought I'd convey what I saw in Japanese. Take care.
