| I know that this will air in two parts (part now and part in October), but how many episodes total will there be? 6 now and 6 later or 12 for each part? | ||||||||||||

12 for each part I'm assuming. It's listed 12 episodes on MAL: http://myanimelist.net/ So, I'm guessing 12 episodes for Fall for a total of 24. |

| tonight i'll bother to type up a few reasons the second episode sucked as well as some serious issues.
since so many of you [refrain from direct insults of other users] 1) the kid is a child warrior besides the fact real world child warriors being the most amoral killers which adult soldiers take seriously on the field. the kids are effectively brainwashed into following one group for whatever happens to be the rest of their lives. in other words the kid wouldn't suddenly get hired by someone he despises for their profession. but that aside the kid would be a loose cannon in her organization. 2) the knife fight was a pitiful joke (especially to anyone who knows anything about hand to hand with knives) 3) the entire premise of this anime is based on the weapons trade. episode 2 not only makes a mockery of the people involved. but is so far off base in how the trade works the writers must be morons if not completely oblivious to the trade in general. anyone as incompetent as the arms dealers portrayed so far wouldn't even be allowed to buy the weapons they supposedly are selling and no one would ever hire these idiots if they did somehow come across weapons to sell. 4) the militia that demanded another weapons run (that's a laugh) arms dealers call the shots about whats for sale and available and in the field they are only as good as the weapons they brought with them. which would have been both trucks being emptied of their loads. the call for more wouldn't be made by some in the field commander but by the militias top echelon which the guy in episode 2 wasn't. 5)the entire show is beginning to feel like they equate the low end nutcase yakusa street weapons dealers as being international level dealers who supply armies. sorry but some thug who can sell hand guns to the local junkies wouldn't last 5 minutes in the international trade because no one would even meet with them in the first place. there is a lot more to list but i have better things to do tonight the above is the obvious drivel in episode 2 as well as the show in general. |

Considering the confrontational nature of your posts I probably shouldn't even bother replying to you since you're likely to just blow off everything that I say and accuse me of being some type of rabid apologist for the show, but I feel compelled to try and refute the points you bring up.
I think it's a bit unfair to judge Jonah's involvement with Koko's group just yet, considering that we haven't been told why or how he got hired by her yet. Once the context for that decision comes to light (which I'm fairly sure it will) you can complain about it all you want, but to bash on it now is rather impatient, to say the least. As for your point about how child soldiers should act, how do you know? Have you studied child soldiers in great detail, or are you just assuming that's how they would act? And even if most of them did act in the manner you described, it's not as though all of them would. There are always outliers, and Jonah is probably meant to be one of those. He appears to be almost emotionally dead, which may be unusual for children, but not unheard of either, and that may well explain his ability to calmly work for Koko despite his distaste for her trade.
Once again, you're talking as though you're an expert on this. It's possible that you are, but I've had far too much experience with trolls who don't understand the limits of their own knowledge to just assume that that's the case. Moving beyond that, I don't think it was supposed to be the "coolest fight ever" anyways: I'm guessing that the whole point of the scene was to show just how cool and composed Valmet is in comparison to Mildred, who lets her battle lust and overall insanity get in the way of actually being efficient and getting the job done. It was not meant to be a beautifully choreographed match between equally skilled opponents, though I enjoyed it nonetheless.
And you're also an expert on the weapon's trade now? Even if I ignore that, only the British dealer in this episode was shown to be something of an actual idiot and he paid for that by barely making it out the situation alive. Koko may act ditzy, but she's shown that she has a shrewd head on her shoulders, and I imagine that buyers would be more than willing to overlook her act if her goods are better or cheaper than other dealers' (which hasn't been confirmed to be the case, but I think it's a plausible explanation).
Your first point here has merit, but there are always idiots who think they can get away with intimidating the people they're trying to buy stuff from, especially if they have numbers on their side. As for your point about who orders more weapons, I was under the impression that the commander in this episode was staging a coup of some sort, so having him need more weapons quickly and buying them himself makes sense. Admittedly, I could very well be wrong in that regard.
Exactly what is it that implies that Koko and her crew are like a bunch of low-level yakuza arms suppliers? In both episodes so far she was shown selling large shipments of weapons to governments or armies; her team is implied to be at least as good as most nations' special forces; she travels around the world to sell her stuff; she dresses professionally and is at least somewhat professional in demeanor towards her clients; and she's backed by HCL, which is implied to be a BIG company. Yeah, that all screams "international arms dealer" to me. What more proof do you need? |

| dragoneyes001, you are absolutely right. I don't even know why TV shows try to seem realistic, how dare they even make a show like this.
Really. Pokémon makes an absolute mockery of real animal trainers, and the effort they put into making a living. Don't even get me started on DBZ, we all know real martial arts can't fly or shot lazers. swienke, you're completely missing the point of what he is saying, he's trying to argue the validity of the show it self, not the facts them self. Now I personally have no opinion of this show either way, I just felt like pointing out how stupid dragoneyes001 is. Last edited by ggqt on Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:25 am; edited 1 time in total |

I'm well aware that dragoneyes001 was probably just looking for any little nitpick that could possibly explain his apparently reflexive hatred of the show, regardless of whether it had any validity or not. However, I tried to refute the specific points he brought up in order to illustrate that his hatred has almost no foundation, though he'll probably just make up new reasons to hate on the show. Now, I can sort of understand it when people don't think an anime is realistic enough: despite the fact that animation is inherently unrealistic just by virtue of being animated, some people have a hard time connecting with a series that doesn't mostly adhere to reality. I think that's kind of sad, but I don't really have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is when people blatantly misrepresent aspects of a series in order to fit it into their own constricting view, which is exactly what dragoneyes001 was doing: he was complaining about the series not being realistic, but all the facts that he listed to support his argument were nowhere near as egregiously unrealistic as he portrayed them, hence why I felt compelled to reply. |

Koko and her gang are in Dubai for some R & R. spoiler[However, a duo of assassins named Orchestra, composed of pantie-less teenager Chinatus and her mentor, a wild guy with sharp teeth, are out to kill Koko. What ensues is a gunfight in the streets of Dubai.] |

| I wouldn't mind if Jormungand eventually introduces a female character who isn't batshit crazy. They are hitting that gong pretty hard. Nevertheless, I continue to enjoy the fun. Although, this episode did have my least favourite action trope: spoiler[assassins who are ostensibly great shots missing with machinegun fire at virtually point blank range simply because the target being shot at is a main character.] | ||||||||||||

1) having served in a war zone back in the 90's in Africa I've had first hand experience with child soldiers and just how brutal they can be as well as their motivations. 2-5) look above I've been there and done that in real life including knowing the people who do it for real so my point of view has a bit more substance than merely objecting to appearances. the people who sell arms are nothing (not even close) to whats portrayed in the anime and exactly like some street level peddlers at best and even thats a stretch if you bother asking anyone who's been to Pakistan or any other nation that has open weapons bazaars. |

| Jormungand: A Symphony of Farts.
Oh God, this dialogue. That said, this episode was really simple, and while that's good considering how convoluted the last two were, it kinda went nowhere fast and there better be a damn good reason they had to stretch it into a two-parter. Oh, and that whole bit where, spoiler[after an extended shoot-out with infamous contract-killers who indiscriminately murder police, they try to crowbar in some godawful, tacky spiel about how weapons even corrupt the normal, good-hearted among us when unchecked. Christ, Jonah, if you're going to be dull as drywall, you could at least pay attention to the things you shoot at.] Jormungand, you are terrible at being deep, terrible, so nix that shit while you're still in good graces, mmkay? Oh, yeah, that bit where he takes out poilce snipers with an AK without even trying but then misses a little kid charging directly at him was pretty good, too. Dude couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if a tornado blasted him through it five minutes ago. |

| Oh, I forgot to mention I liked the part where they are spoiler[home-schooling Jonah]. I didn't think they'd ever bother touching on that aspect. | ||||||||||||

| dragoneyes, calm the frack down. it's an action anime. it's not real life. and neither does it try to be.
i'd bash my head against a wall for every time someone complains about a friggin anime not being realistic but then my family wouldn't be able to identify me at the morgue... |

lol the fall back argument rears its ugly head. as was the case back in the 50's and 60's when the US put out hundreds of movies rewriting history and the 2nd world war. "its entertainment" don't pay attention to the total lack of reality the shows boast while they emulate events that happened or are happening. or the other pathetic excuse "artistic license" where portraying life like situations while totally disregarding the realities of said situations because the writers and director either don't actually know what they are portraying (the most frequently true option) and didn't bother finding out anything but the most superficial info about the subject they are trying to convey. but lets tackle your "its an anime they aren't trying to portray reality in any way" argument: 1) name how many types of weapons they show and you can identify. 2) name a few real places they've mentioned so far 3) UMM! did you miss this? the main characters are ARMS dealers as mentioned how many times? so exactly how does holding them to portraying arms dealers as arms dealers become expecting too much from an anime based specifically on the international arms trade. 4) how fast would you complain about an anime where the middle school students have to shave in the morning or use tampons and pads before going to class? |
