Captain Herlock: Endless Odyssey box set from off Amazon.

With exception to Zakuro and the first Lupin III TV anime series that I pre-ordered months ago, I don't plan on buying any more titles for an undetermined amount of time after this since I'm gonna be tight on money from my present state of unemployment. As soon as I actually find paying work and I have a decent flow of money coming in again, then I'll be back to splurging.

Small purchase of a couple things I've been meaning to buy FOREVER:
Escaflowne The Movie Blu-ray
Outlaw Star Anime Legends DVD

Anyone wanting that Outlaw Star dvd should get it soon, seems most places the price has skyrocketed ($90 on Amazon.com, RACS has it for the same price), and I can't even find a copy on ebay. Anyone interested, they still have stock at www.planetaxel.com (great site, I've ordered there many times), and of course www.rightstuf.com (which is of course also a fantastic site), for $37. Smile

I'd also like to say that this severely limited anime budget has almost been a good thing. It makes me way choosier with my purchases, so I don't buy crap (like Highschool of the Dead, watched that recently....just no), and I'm actually watching the stuff that I buy. Having unwatched stuff on my shelf seems really pointless to me now, so even when more money starts rolling in, I think I'll stick to purchasing very little anime, or at least stop blind buying every damn thing that comes out, and then not watch it. Laughing

Payday Thursday:

Kitchen Princess 2-9 from the comic shop. They've been sitting there taunting me for ages. I finally decide to go buy them and lo and behold, I get them to the till and they're all half price and still on 3 for 2 Very Happy

I had to order volume 1 off the internet, but it was still pretty cheap thankfully.

I don't normally like manga, but I loved Kitchen Princess. I read about it one night since someone brought it up, thought it was interesting, and the next day when I went to my local book fair, there were all ten volumes for $2.50 each, and I thought it was a sign.

Kitchen Princess is a standard but still enjoyable shoujo. My favorite unique twist was how they put all of the recipes in the back of each volume. I keep planning to try them out, but keep forgetting that they're there--not like they're sitting with the rest of my cookbooks, after all.
