This is certainly going to be interesting, especially since they've actually booked the east building of the convention centre, which has been prohibitively expensive for virtually every other group trying to start new conventions or events in Vancouver. Let's hope that they still have some money left over for overseas guests and industry reps.
Hopefully everything goes well. AKACon, an older anime convention in Vancouver, was apparently run by a group of entrepreneurs and ended disastrously. Hopefully the same thing won't happen here. |

So is this free or do you have to pay for a ticket to get in?
Since I can get there by Skytrain I could certainly see popping in at least one day and checking things out if it's free to enter. |

Well, if you click on the link available above, you'll see you need to buy passes. I'd love to tell you how much the various passes cost, but in their infinite wisdom, the organizers of this event have set it up so that you have to register first and then presumably you'll find out the prices, to which I say: eff that.

They are currently taking pre-registeration and the price for 3 day general pass is $50 until March 31st, if you are going you might want to get it now before price goes up! At door price is $75
Guests include Sarah Edmondson and Sugar Lyn Beard, Irulanne, Mark Nguyen, Fighting Dreamers Productions, Jessica Nigri, Doug Walker (aka The Nostalgia Critic) and Noah Antwiler (aka Spoony). If anyone's interested to know more about guests they'll be having, check out their guests page at http://www.animerevolution.ca/guests/ UPDATE: And again, our latests guests are Vincent Corazza and Ron Rubin, however, I'm afraid Lee Tockar is no longer on the list. At the Vancouver Convention Center and they announced a Japanese guest. Not bad. I'll check it out.
Edit: Sale price seems to end tomorrow. Make sure you get while ticket is still cheaper! |

You know, for a supposedly large anime convention happening in Vancouver, I'm a bit surprised/disappointed at the general lack of Vancouver anime actors currently listed in attendance. And yes, I do realize that a good portion of them have decided to head to Seattle for the Pony con instead, but I have to wonder if anyone else was even approached if they haven't been confirmed by now.

Prices for autograph and photo booth are out! here they are!
Autographs / Prints The Sailor Moon Crew (Terri Hawkes, Vincent Corazza, Sugar Lyn Beard, Susan Roman, Katie Griffin, Ron Rubin) $10 for an autographed print. $7 for a signature on a personal item belonging to attendee, such as Sailor Moon character doll, poster, T- shirt, manga or things from other series that voice actor has been involved with as well. $15 for a signed print plus a signature on another item presented like a toy, poster, t-shirt, manga, etc. ($10 for the print and $5 for the extra item.) **Terri Hawkes would like all proceeds from her sessions to go to the Starlight Foundation.** Sarah Edmondson – $10 for a signed print. Kristie Marsden – $10 for a signed print. Matthew Erickson – $10 for a signed print. Noah Antwiler (The Spoony One) – $5 for prints. Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic / That Guy With The Glasses) $10 for a signed prints $20 for a signed DVD He will sign program books for free. Irulanne – $5 for a signed print and will autograph program books for free. 404′s - $10 for a signed print and will autograph program books for free. Jessica Nigri – $10 for prints. No extra charge for autographs. Sam Logan – Is doing Autographs for free when people buy his stuff at his AA table. Angela Melick – Same as Sam Logan. She will autograph right at her table too. Jouji Nakata – No Fee for Autographs. Photobooth $30 for a professional and personal print with a guest.
