I have a B.A. in Communication (and an A.A. in Liberal Arts, but I'm not sure that really counts for anything Laughing ), so I suppose that lands me in "Social Sciences". My foci were in interpersonal and mass communication, and I dabbled (and almost pursued a degree) in psychology, so I guess I know a lot about people.

I'd like to end up doing something involving marketing in some form that doesn't require extensive knowledge of economics (particularly in the tech industry, I've always wanted to pull a Steve Jobs and shill some shiny plaything that everyone has to have), but in this job market I'll just take anything that isn't customer service, flipping burgers, or landscaping.

Boy have you not! You people should see what he posted on the subscriber forum a little while ago. It's pornography! Pure pornography!

I can confirm that. larinon you maths pervert. Laughing

Excellent! I need that to be my forum title. Maths Pervert!

I'm a little surprised that we don't see more votes under the fine arts, but I guess it's early. In my experience with the college's club this is the predominant field of study among fans.

Hey, hey! How does a mathematician get rid of constipation?

spoiler[He works it out with a pencil.] Anime hyper

It was a science teacher that taught me that one. It's still one of my favorites.

@larinon - That tends to be my experience as well. Well, that and computer tech and engineering. We nerds proudly stick together.

That glass is twice the size it needs to be.

Penguin: SHORT ROUND!! SHORT ROUND!!

Polar Bear:

Penguin: You just keep getting further off the mark. The lyrics go, "you spin my head right round."

Hmmmm. I don't know what to put now. I came into UCLA as a political science major and ended up with a biology degree. My former occupation dealt with "legalities" of health care. It was the most interesting job I've had and learned a lot of about health care. It was sad and funny at times - you wouldn't believe the grievances, appeals and law suits people file against their doctors and/or hospitals. Some were pretty sad cases and hard to respond to and handle. Now I'm starting a whole new chapter and getting two degrees/certificate MBA and Japanese Business Management. I'm in a really cool program where I learn both the standard American business practices and Japanese language and business management. I will be going to Japan for 3-4 months in 2014 as part of my capstone internship but I don't know where I'll end up, yet.

I just realized that I've gone to too much schooling and I still haven't found what I want to do, yet I'm still going to go through another 2 years of schooling. Urggg.

EDIT: grammar and spelling errors.

I chose "other" because I did 2 years of a BSc. in maths before dropping out last summer, and in September I'm going to start a BA in Commercial Music which is a mixture of music and business studies. I also did a year of Japanese classes as an outside subject in first year.

Count me in. I've been sleeping with my maths book next to me pillow for the past month. Laughing

Hey larinon, did you ever consider going into theoretical physics?

Engineering: I envision this as encompassing civil, mechanical and electrical engineering with things like chemical engineering falling under physical sciences.

Just want to let you know that chemical engineering is a type of engineering and not a physical science even though they do take lots of courses in it. Chemical engineers concern themselves with plant design or even process design for example.

Since the glass is wider at the top, it is somewhat less than half full.

Not if you want others to understand.

"That glass is an optical illusion" = magician.

Alan is probably forensics. Or detective. Laughing

The philosophy one got me laughing.

"What do you want it to be" would fit accounting a bit better.

And law would get something like "This glass is the victim of a thirsty culprit".

But then it wouldn't be mathematics.

OBJECTION! That glass is a washed-up liar! It was half-full from the beginning! It's just trying to frame my client for "leering" at it!

lol I thought about that. Maths just isn't meant to be understood.

Then explain to me why there are no fingerprints despite the fact that someone had to fill the cup. Your client was clearly covering his trail.

The glass was provocatively refreshing! It wanted me to drink it!

Voted engineering, though it's not exactly how I classify myself as a software developer. I do also have a degree in philosophy.
