Perhaps we're all just to blind to see this for the innovation that it is: Prostitution for asexuals*. It fills a niche even as it keeps vaginas empty.
That's ableist! Why do you hate double amputees so much?
There's enough to worry about in the Japanese (actual) sex industry that it hardly seems worth going after strange little human contact boutiques like this, unless they're less bizarrely innocent than they seem on the surface, which wouldn't be inconceivable.
I wouldn't bank on it either. eurotrip1986 isn't really big on thought or understanding or compassion or anything else the a decent human being is capable of. He's mostly about hateful, judgmental authoritarianism. *Well, romantic asexuals, particularly heteromantic males, although I do wonder if any women might ever patronize this shop. |

You could possibly be right, though I was thinking more based on your id,ego and super ego. Satisfying your id could result in both positive and negative effect on your super ego so in this case I really can't say how it will affect their mental health. Oh well enough about psychology etc. All I'm going to say is I'm not supporting or oppose this idea since I never did any research on this topic. But I will say that you won't need to pay to sleep next to a female if you're a male. During busy campus days some female friends and I snuggle together for a quick nap between classes sometimes due to our lack of sleep, but then again that could not be acceptable in Japan so who knows. I just hope the guys feel satisfied and the girls don't feel uncomfortable. |

I did at first, but decided to change it in case it offended anyone. It probably wouldn't make any difference, I know, but it was just one of those spur of the moment things.
How does that fix anything? She doesn't and never will love you, or touch you in any way without getting paid to do so, she's just a stranger who feels a large amount of disgust possibly mixed with some small amount of pity for the revolting thing next to her. That isn't intimacy, you still have no partner in your travels through life, it accomplishes nothing aside from wasting your money on some bizarre form of humiliation. Sorry, but I fail to see any advantage in that. |

That's called a very expensive prostitute.
I wish someone would rub my back. |

Am I the only one who's wondering how this has anything to do with anime? Sure it's in Japan, but this isn't Japan News Network.

Wow, this is just flat out depressing and very creepy. For that much money, you might as well spend that elsewhere.

Oh, you're one of those people then. Yeah, I think this would be totally okay if the roles were reversed, and women shouldn't be allowed to have their own wild fantasies while they're busy being chained up barefoot and pregnant in my kitchen. Now you can be happy.
Why does this happen every time? It's an Interest item, not a News one. |

The sex drive has increased judging from the increase in porn, the increase in sexual host and hostess clubs, the increase in sex toys, the increase in otaku and fujoshi goods, from sexual figures to ero doujinshi and ero manga for men and women
Why do people think everyone who wants sex must also want to have kids? Many other countries have decreasing birthrates as well, close to Japan's and some worse in fact, but I seriously doubt their populations are becoming asexual. In any case, from the price I don't think it'll gain much traction. I think a few customers may try it once and that's it. The service may last for a while since there's no cost to the shop (assuming the girl has other duties she can do). What really needs to happen is to simply ouright legalize for-sex prostitution and sex-optional services (like this sleep/patting service could also be) as in many other countries, rather than leaving it in the hands of yakuza |

I always laugh whenever I see references to this video. Apparently it's more well-known than I would have expected. I just stumbled upon it one day on youtube and laughed my butt off. So twisted. In fact, isn't Parse Error's avatar from it? As for the news article... um, okay. Can I have a store that allows me to sleep among cats? I'd pay money to sleep in a room with several kitties who crawl into bed and curl up beside me. I mean, they already have cat cafés (which I want to visit). Then again, such things would only encourage cheating. My cat certainly wouldn't be happy to discover me sleeping with other cats. She may even disown me. B-but I'm sorry girl! I was weak and lonely and starving for affection that you only occasionally give, and I wanted to cuddle! Please forgive me for my transgressions! |

That is correct. I love that smile, it is just so... terribly wrong.
I have plenty to spare, so if there's more people like you maybe I should go into business. Perhaps I'd finally have my lap free once in a while as well. |

I'm sure that it'll help those socially maladjusted enough to need this to be more normal, by charging them $13 every time they make eye contact during the session.

I'd pay just to get her to pull that stupid balaclava off his head, the coward. This is nothing new. If one visits London's Soho district, one will find virtually the same thing, but with no limits. These exist in virtually every "civiliised" city on the planet. They don't call it " the world's oldest profession" for nothing.

Dunno why anyone would consider this creepy. So its creepy to lie next to a woman, but it isn't if you shag her? It is a poor world we live in.
Is it me or could this get very awkward? ... for that matter anyone using this service would likely have pretty low self-esteem so their ability to gaze intently at the other seems somewhat limited. |
