@classicalzawa
That's good advice about including some punchy OVAs. I'll look at my collection and see if anything leaps out at me.
And as I say, I'll probably break down and take some more Ghibli films (Whisper of the Heart, Only Yesterday, Nausicaa, Totoro and Kiki at least).

I've only ever seen a couple of episodes of Avatar, and I know this is unfair of me after sampling so little, but it didn't grab me. Not enough to buy cold at least. Maybe I'll come to it in the future.

By the way, what is that on your shelf between Perfect Blue and Please Save My Earth? (And what did you think of Sea Prince and Fire Child?)

Petshop of Horrors, the old Urban Vision release!
As for Sea Prince, I quite like it, though it definitely reeks of "old" so to say. It's basically Romeo and Juliet. Also, the soundtrack is done by Koichi Sugiyama, and I do love me some Dragon Quest!

Since this thread is back:

I took this one pic of the whole collection a month or two back so it's fairly current.

On Sea Prince. I agree the score was really something. And a lot of the visuals were stunning.
It seemed very loooong to me though, in a way that other good-for-you classics didn't (like Taro the Dragon Boy and Wankapu Oji no Orochi Taiji).

@Kruszer
What is that (7 box-set?) silver thing (non-anime, it looks) on the bottom shelf on the right?

Ha! Now I know whose faces those are, I can recognise them. Without knowing, though, you could have told me it was a premium set of The L-Word, and I would have believed you.

The piece with the cast on it is actually just some cheapo cardboard that the season sets sit in. Wouldn't surprise me if it was some kind of standard issue copy/pasty design from Paramount on a certain line of shows.

Been quite a while since I last posted in here. My collection in recent years has expanded to the point where I had to wind up getting two additional shelves to store my DVDs on. So I have photos between the two shelves and whatever sections there are on the shelves of my entertainment stand. Sorry about the glare in some of these shots. My entertainment stand and DVD rack are right in front of my bedroom window and I took these photos via my cell phone since I could get better picture quality from it than my webcam.

The amount of money in that room is astounding....It looks like a DVD rental store...

I want a job that pays me enough money to be able to do that...

Alright, it's basically the end of the year, and my last big purchase from RightStuf made it in the nick of time yesterday. So, now I'm back to not having any more shelf space and having to squeeze things in where ever I can. But, I have managed to pick up a few series and releases I had missed out on previously, such as AnimEigo's SDF Macross box set.

Oh, and while it may not look like that much was added, it's nearly another 500 discs than before (must be all those years of Tetris as a kid). Getting close to 3K total, currently chilling out at 2,908.

Shelf 5

Views from left and right.

VHS is still the same.

So yeah, I guess I'll need to start shelf shopping again. Problem now is where the hell to put another shelf?

Update time, since this is back and it's a new year.

My Collection
Another Angle

The biggest change is that I separated them by format and gave the BD and combo packs their own shelf.
