I absolutely adore Aria, and have no problems marathoning it - but you need to be in a mellow mood.

The only thing I dislike about Aria are the Cait Sith episodes. To me they just don't fit well with the rest of the world that's been created. I really don't think they achieve the goal of spoiler[demonstrating Akari's special connection to the world] any more than an ordinary episode does.

There is a storyline to Aria, but it it comes through much stronger in the two following series. Of course, with Aria stronger is definitely a relative term - things happen and get resolved, but always at the same pace.

It's also worthwhile mentioning that Aria is the Trope Namer for the Scenery Porn trope.

The episodes with "Maa-shachou" are terribly pointless. As if a show such as Aria even needed "filler".

Aria, the 3 seasons and OVA is one of my best anime and I don't completely understand why, I'm a male, 58 years old, I'm not for sure, the audience the creator of this seri target.

The only episodes I dislike are the ones when Akari need to change her gondola, the feeling get so sirupy...

Normally I preferred seri like Ghost in the Sell, Ergo Proxy or Mushi-Shi.

I think the main reason why I watched this so often is because it's therapeutic for me, I have a really stressful job, sometime I come home in poor mental state with all the muscles of my neck and shoulder like knot, checking one or two episodes of Aria is the best therapy. I also love the music of Choro Club especially when the Double Bass is play with bow. For the last 3 years I have this seri always in a folder on a corner of my desktop, I probably checked the complete seri around 20 times.

Despite my love of this seri, none of my friends, family members or even my girl friend appreciated it.

P.S. Excuse my English it's not my natural language

Interesting luc2, I'm mid fifties male and really ended up liking the series also for the same reasons. But, it took about 4 eps before I was hooked. I really enjoyed the president aria ep about his play at super hero. The voice cracks me up. I think the seiyuu did a great job, it was funny and it broke the language barrier.
And the late Eri Kawai singing Barcarolle...what an angelic voice.
Seriously, when I die, I hope I go to Neo Venezia!

I wish this series had more buzz about it, I guess it's just not sexy and violent enough for most tastes which is too bad.
