Although, it probably should be expected that it looks like a continuation of Negima... After all, Setsuna was from the same school of swordsmanship as Motoko and Tsuruko and the Hinata sword even showed up in Negima as well. And Negima also had references to the CompSci siblings from Ai ga Tomaranai. And then there's Mei...
But those three series have never been confirmed to take place in the same continuity. And even if they do, the main characters from the prior series never showed up. So, I wouldn't expect him to break the formula now; Negima & co. will likely be no more than part of the setting's background, if that.

Odds are he's just counting on old readers avid to see more of Negima to make the premise into a sucker hook. But even if he gave the old cast cameos, this doesn't fix anything with the Negima end problems. It's too far into the future so we can see things like the Lifemaker's actual defeat, or all the Pactios the finale hinted at but never showed.

Even if this is related to Negima!, or they're sharing the same world, I highly doubt that we'll get to see the Negima!'s casts. Negima!'s far into the future, while this is just when they're in the first decade after they found magic, right? Unless Ken made that guy out to be the life maker or something lol

No, its ten years after magic was revealed to the world, which happened towards the end of the Negima manga.
