As expected from Madhouse, I enjoyed the nice animation and the dynamic camera angles, those elements will likely make up for the otherwise generic yet simple premise for me.

Love Yuuka Nanri! Also, Mikako Takahashi is one of the most underrated VAs of the past 1.5 decades. Love her so much

Madhouse, if you are just going to animate more generic drivel then cut it out and focus on actually making Ippo's animation as good as the second season's.

I'll reserve actual judgement for when I actually watch this, but boy does it look dull and just-like-other-three-hundred-shows-you've-seen.

From a business standpoint, why would Madhouse bother responding to such a complaint? Is Hajime no Ippo a top seller franchise? Does it sell thousands of BD/DVD discs? Why should Madhouse focus all of their resources on Hajime no Ippo, while producing 2-3 other shows, which probably make them more money? Because otherwise some fan on ANN forum become upset?
Hajime no Ippo getting a 3rd season was already a surprise; NTV (the main investor of Hajime no Ippo and owner of Madhouse) is currently focusing the resources on Hunter x Hunter, and this makes clearly sense.

So "Generic Light Novel: The Light Novel: The Anime" gets the first Nanri Yuuka theme in god knows how long?
