Y'all are going to laugh if I ask whether anyone has licensed it for the US, right?

I was thinking the same thing... there was nothing about the US in the article.

I saw it was on cinemas in Paris back in december when I was there, there was a huge poster all over the front of the cinema which speaks volumes of how popular Captain Harlock is in some part of Europe, wanted to go in but time did not permit me so and I was afraid it was dubbed so I did not bother. Will wait for the Blu-ray.

I thought Sentai Filmworks licensed Space Pirate Captain Harlock. For some reason I thought this was getting NA release.

It's not, but I won't laugh since I'm waiting for an announcement of a limited run in theaters. I mean the company running it in France and Italy made an English dub.

Anchor Bay is releasing the film in Australia (via Madman Entertainment) next month (I still can't figure out if it's dub only or has the Japanese dialogue as well). You would think their US parent company would also be releasing it, but there’s no evidence they have the rights.

Going by Anchor Bay's website, it's dub only. The website lists "N/A" under subtitles. For me, that's disappointing. But I've already preordered the Japanese collector's edition release.

This recognition could embolden more Japanese animators that they're good enough to do more 3DCG projects.

I was like, "What the--?!"

And then I saw it was from a society of 3D professionals and settled down a bit. Okay, from the technical side, I could see that.
