What is with people and this scene? There was nothing wrong with the animation itself. In fact, the scene is a GREAT example of smooth, high-quality animation in Japanese anime and is cited as a proud achievement in Pierrot's studio museum (which I visited a little over a year ago).
It was the STYLE that was controversial among the fans, and only a vocal niche of fans who didn't like it at all. Not the animation. There's a huge difference between talking about animation and style of art within the animation.

I want this game, but... blargh. Too many games to want right now. I still want the Japanese-only costumes from the 3rd game. The West-only costumes didn't suit my fancy, like, at all...

Just do the Pain boss fight in Storm 2, its superior in every aspect lol

Despite what I said above, in terms of actual impact, the game's version of the battle was, indeed, far superior to the anime's version of the battle. It's no surprise that CC2 has been praised for its presentation of Naruto (and JoJo, since it just won that CG award in Japan).

They're available on PSN/Xbox Marketplace in bundles with other DLC packs.
