I don't understand why anime is so expensive on amazon

I just signed up for prime to lock in the low price and I can't find a single thing I want that doesn't cost like 15$ more than at any other store.

I guess the lady who is suing amazon was right.

Huh? I almost always find the cheapest prices on Amazon. And you can usually still find plenty of stuff for more that 40% off... which is what Rightstuf tops off at.

Granted, I just looked up some new releases ans found some of it with little to no discount given. (Robotics;Notes pt. has 1 no discount at all currently) but that strikes me as a very strange exception (especially for a Funimation license), not the usual thing at all.

I think they used to have cheap prices, but it's changed within the past few years. And they almost never have Viz manga on sale either. Rakuten usually has around 37% off stuff or more, and since Amazon free shipping is at $35 and Rakuten is at $40, I'm likely to go over there instead (though they don't have free shipping on pre-order, so I'll wait until it's come out). Sometimes, FYE will have SAVE titles half off so I like to bide my time til then for those. And my one local comic shop has half off manga all the time, so I typically end up going to Rakuten or Right Stuf for whatever else I need when it comes to new releases.
Now, Amazon only seems to have sales when everyone else does (Black Friday, etc)

Well, there's a reason for Robotics;Notes; Amazon's preorder price for the standard edition was around 70% off and they were not happy about that. {How do I know? I bought it and I've gotten better service and packaging off of EBay}.

And now I bought Hellsing 2 at 80% off. I can't wait to find out how they deal with that one. First thing I've noticed, my shipping date is for May and I'm set to get another part of the order in April.
