My guess is there will be an announcement Otakon, but don't quote me on that. It would makes sense seeing as Aniplex doesn't really have any other "killer aps" to announce any time soon.

ok, so it looks like around $250 total for a domestic Gurren Lagann on Blu-ray

I'll pass. My anime legends set is more than enough

Dammit, I got all excited for Gurren Lagann, almost thinking it was affordable. Then I saw the ep count per disc... not cool, man, not cool.

When considering the Gurren Lagann price tag you might want to take into account that they did a complete overhaul of the animation. The HD recomposite looks FAR better than the old source that Bandai and Aniplex used for their DVDs.
