Hey so I have a laserdisc player and Kindaichi on laserdisc. Now this disc was from hong kong and has both chinese/japanese language and chinese/english subtitles (or so it says on the sleeve) I can change the audio on my player but the chinese subtitles stay on. (I can't even turn them off) I was wondering if I could get some help with switching the subtitles. I think I've tried every button on my remote but was wondering if there was a trick.

make sure the subtitles are not hard coded
there could be another video track in english check for closed captioning |

I was thinking there might be close captioning for the english subtitles. If that's the case do I need any special equipment? I did turn CC on my tv on but didn't get anything. This LD player is from the 90's though and my tv is 2013 hd flatscreen so I was wondering if something is lost in compatibility between technologies. |
