Had some rewards points from CDJapan that were about to expire and some unused cashback on my credit card, so I decided to put them together and get the μ's Best Album with the included Blu-ray for the PVs.

Got that email and wondered if they still had Love Live! I bet the external bonus cards are long gone now Hesitant to post this because I have a feeling its going to be cancelled, but I found a great deal. Amazon had two copies of the Star Driver movie for $39 the moment I put one into my cart it disappeared from inventory. I immediately added the other copy (again hesitant because the vendor has just launched and has zero feedback) and charged it. I really hope I get it its basically 60% off the retail price. I don't even think you can get a USED copy for that cost on Amazon JP. This may be the purchase that completes my Star Driver collection. |

Got my Attack on Titan Part 1 & 2 LEs from the Funimation store yesterday which was reasonably fast and before the street date. Also recently got:
Bokurano: Ours GN 11 Solanin GN Dorohedoro GN 13 Uzumaki Omnibus GN Claymore GN 24 Gunslinger Girl: Finale GN 15 Now when will I get to read or watch anything of this stuff is unknown since things have been extremely hectic and I barely have time to post on the forums as it is. |

Picked up the last available Hell Girl and second to last xxxHOLiC autographed lithographs from TRSI. And to delay the charge a bit, I added Index Season 2, Part 1 BD/DVD combo to the order

I'm still waiting for word of my copy of the second collector's edition. The situation is a little more curious because for roughly a week earlier this month, a charge for the appropriate amount from FUNImation was hovering over, but not posted to, my credit card, but that disappeared a few days ago. I wonder if they're having some sort of fulfillment or late quality assurance issues. It might be, although I dread this, a complication arising from my having recently moved. Whatever the case, I hope that it gets here in good time; I might have special plans for it...
This is the rare list of purchases that I can personally give my 100% seal of approval. I'll grant that I haven't read any of Bokurano or Gunslinger Girl, but I'm reasonably confident that I will read and enjoy them in the future; Bokurano likely ahead of Gunslinger Girl. I think that both Solanin and Uzumaki are very good; they have limitations, but not any that make them unworthy of reading. Anybody buying a volume of Dorohedoro is doing the Lord's work. Doubt your move is the cause because the same thing has happened to me - pending charge on my credit card for about a week, no shipment confirmation email from Funi, pending charge then suddenly disappeared. And I ordered it as soon as it was announced and available for pre-order, soooo *shrugs* ***EDIT*** Disregard - immediately after posting this, I received shipping confirmation lol |

This is the second or third time I've ordered something from Funi and I haven't had issues. What I have noticed so far with my orders is that they tend to ship them first and then send me an email saying they have shipped. I think I got my email on Tues saying they shipped and then got my package on Weds. Now I ordered the limited edition with the artbox not the collector's edition, so maybe packaging is a little different for including all the little extras which might have made the shipping process a little slower? Its also possible that they stack stuff on a shipping pallet and ship a stack out at a time once they reach a certain number. This means there could be some delays between these bulk shipments. As far as your moving if both Funi and the credit card company have your new address it shouldn't be an issue. Now if its the shipping carriers we are talking about then that's something different. Had 2 packages from Amazon this month supposedly delivered and signed for except I never received them nor did I sign for them.
Uzumaki and Solanin are both blind buys for me, something I don't do too often anymore. I generally prefer to read a review and a chapter or two before committing to a purchase. I've seen some favorable comments about Solanin and the description of Uzumaki just drew me in (like the spiral at the heart of its mystery). I do like that Uzumaki is a hardback. It just feels nice in my hands. I can't wait to read it. I previously read Bokurano several years ago online and enjoyed it quite a bit. It has both some balls and some weaknesses. This was the last volume and I haven't read any of the preceding ones because I wanted to sit down and re-read the whole thing again in one go. I'm curious if my opinions of it will have changed over time and if Viz will be censoring it. It is imho superior to the anime, but be forewarned it is tragedy porn if you don't like that sort of thing. I hope to find some time in the next week to do some reading. Life has been in overdrive lately and I haven't had much free time in the last 3 months.

I came home from my evening walk to find that I'd received my confirmation message, so I have that to look forward too. I ordered mine posthaste, so I'm a little disappointed with the delay, but it's not like I need it RIGHT FREAKING NOW! Just by Columbus Day... maybe. With that overcome, I just hope that everything is in good condition when it comes. I don't like to fuss over it, but FUNIMation has had some prominent quality assurance failures lately that make me a little wary. Why can't I ever just be happy?
Dude, you've got an evil twin. I don't know if we're talking about a robot duplicate, clone or anti-matter universe duplicate. Wait... maybe you're the evil twin. Do you have beard?
Solanin is a 'coming of age' tale and does it well, but there's a certain familiarity to that comes with the form. Uzumaki is weird as Hell from stem to stern in the best ways. I thought that it was thin on characterization, but it's really good at the strange horror that's it's reason for being. The hardcover edition is fabulous and half of why I took a chance on it.
Dude, I'd be tragedy porn Hugh Hefner if I could. What would I call the magazine... Cryboy? Hmmm, as I think of it, I'm due for my triennial viewing of Now and Then, Here and There.
I hope not Maximum Overdrive. That movie sucks. Goddamn clown truck... |

Dude, delays rarely ever register with me. I'll get my orders when I get 'em.
That's pretty much the attitude you have to take with Kickstarter projects. Having had ownership of my own projects (these being medical products delivered to market though), I have experienced so much crazy shit that loves to throw you ball curves. Things you didn't predict. Things you felt you should have predicted or handled better, but because you're juggling 20 million things at once you overlooked or forgot. Maybe it's my "que sera, sera" attitude, but I just don't worry much. I trust that it'll get to me eventually and that the people behind it do care. |

Kay, Sarah Sarah? lol alrite. Let me tell you attitude, it's more like this: Everything's going wrong, we're all gonna die and its all your fault for doing anything.
The Kickstarters that fail are the best ones, because the pressure's off. I don't have to worry about having chosen the wrong tier, missing an update, not answering a survey or entering my address incorrectly. It's just 'fire and forget'. I can waste all the money I want and not worry about screwing something up. God bless you, Osamu Tezuka's The Crater. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On a related note, even though my package has shipped, no charge has been posted to my credit card. Presumably they have contracted their fulfillment and billing operations out to the Keystone Kops, who have had trouble getting work since everything became talkies. |

Gawd, freakin' The Crater. Only Kickstarter I've backed that I've yet to see literally anything for, not even pics. I've yet to get any physical goods from any of the Kickstarters I've backed, and I've come to expect delays, but A) ANNina posted pics of the book and is about to ship b) Wakfu season 1 is now on Netflix and they've shared pics of the new bonus eps. It helps that the show is already complete in French C)That online webcomic has sent pdfs for the chapters out D) Bee & Puppycat have show plenty of concept art and now has a release date E) Amplitude is by a respectable company and has regular updates and F) Tezu'a Captain Ken, while a recent fund, is dMP, who have fulfilled other books so they have honest respect behind them. Only The Crater is pulling this, not even damn pictures, man! I'm kind of not sure what to do, ask Amazon for my money back or wait and hope I get a precious Tezuka book. I suppose the only true explanation is this |
