The correct reading of this writer's name is provided on the Writers Guild of Japan page: 笹野 恵 （ささの めぐむ） Japanese Wikipedia also uses the same reading.
Since the scriptwriter has already been split from any other potential Megumi Sasano's, a replace merge should be OK, but I'm not sure if it's possible to do with entries that have been split (is it?). I came across this writer today. I agree with your assessment that Megumi (screenwriter) needs to have her credits moved to Megumu. I was unable to find additional sources to verify the reading though.

This is a perfect case for the new merge functionality (and from a split entry just like that one), so time to use it.
