Having watch all episodes so far, I can say it exactly what reviewer commented for the first three episodes of Trinity Seven.

Art is good, its dumb at times, it serious at others times, while tries to be funny and does succeed only certain moments parts. The show so far is ultimately a fan-services base anime with stereotypical characters included. Similar show is Campione!, however I think from what I've seen of this show, the Campione! was better done.

Another problem I found with the show is its in a hurry. Big one, its bum rushing story before someone can make sense of it or even joy the story and characters. This may be not the show's creator's fault, but its not helping here.

Just saying, so far the anime has adapted the manga word by word (More like 80%+ but still pretty good compared to others, which is rare), is not rushing anything and the review looks like it's done by a harem hater (No, I'm not raging or anything), so far for me the show is pretty good (I'm reading the manga every time it comes out) judging for what is shown in the manga.

Honestly Theron is the really only go to reviewer in ANN as far an most harem and ecchi stuff goes he pretty openly likes the stuff and it seems most reviews of any harem or ecchi shows tend to go to him.

All things considered even by the standards of these types of shows (I freely admit I don't like them so I personally put their standard a tad lower than normal) this seems sub par so far. I haven't watched episode 3 yet but episode 2 was like death. The jokes were not funny, the inconsistent character animation was much more obvious than in the first, it was overall tasteless nonsensical and just a complete tonal shift from the mystery built up by episode 1. If I wasn't intent on giving it a chance to redeem itself through the 3 episode rule I'd have dropped it there.

Compared to Vanadis, which is the really the other big echhi/harem type series this season, Trinity Seven does not compare. TS just tries too hard to live up to the standard harem tropes while also being dramatic and serious.

Also as a side note about Arata, while I don't generally mind his perverted attitude I do mind when it completely interferes with and destroys the tension in what is supposed to be a serious moment. There's a difference between calming a situation and just flat out ignoring it for 5 minutes to make pee jokes.

As a huge fan of the manga, I agree that the anime has not been doing justice to the source material.

First, some important prologue scenes were cut from the pilot, which really helped cement Arata's character and motivations. Missing those makes him seem really inconsistent and overly irreverent.

Second, the directing or composition of the show in general has major issues. It works in manga to jump from serious to ecchi to comedy and back and forth, but the anime does very little to transition between them or even differentiate between moods, which results in really dry scenes that completely lack impact.

Basically, it feels like they mechanically took the manga and plopped the events into an anime; I don't sense any feelings behind it. The only exceptions are the ecchi scenes, which don't really need extra attention to make them stand out >_> Quite a waste.

That said, I do feel like the strength of the source material can pull the show out, as long as they don't randomly cut too much stuff in their haste to pump out 2 monthly chapters per episode. The twist that comes at where I theorize they will end the anime (based on the OP) is pretty good.

I definitely agree that the series is rather inconsistent. I don't dislike this show so far, but some of the jokes just seem odd and out of place. I like Arata's interplay with the other characters, standard harem archetypes though they may be. I think it makes for some good laughs. Though, it does feel like the show can't really decide if it wants to be more serious or more silly.

I don't think the show is moving along too quickly for it's own good though. I feel like if it were slower it would be a lot more tedious to sit through. I think there's just enough explanation so that we know whats going on, but not so much as to where it becomes a slog.

I'm gonna keep with this show, its entertaining and holding my interest so far, (though, that pee holding bit in ep. 2 was really weird and came out of nowhere).

Man, this show has some of the worst dialogue I've seen in a while. It's almost like the show was written by a cliche phrase generator. Try to stay sober while taking a drink when ever you hear a phrase such as "not at a time like this..." (note to self: move to Japan and open a bar named A Place Like This).

The one aspect of this series that bugs the heck out of me is the background music, especially during humorous scenes; they just don't match! I'm not looking for pops, whistles, and other cliche humorous musical inserts, but when there's an obvious gaffaw, the music continues it's usual death-like dirge. Come on, at least try to match the scene! UGH!

I have to agree, the editing it something left to be desired. It does feel choppy. Specially there parts where some student disappear, no one knows it happened or its was cut out about them being worried.

Something tells me this was anime that either has bad editor or has productions issues and their rushing put this thing together and out the door.

I'll have to look at the manga if its bit better than what were seeing.

That this one is so sloppy on the editing is weird, given that its director has some pretty prominent titles under his belt. (This is the same guy who directed Azumanga Daioh, The Melody of Oblivion, and both of the A Certain Magical Index series, among others.)

While I agree, in general, that this show is not really top material, there are two things I love about Liselotte. The first is that it's probably the only case of effective directing of a person's face in the show. She does give off the "well, I'm trying this cocky supervillain thing out, but I'm nervous as crap" vibe.

The other thing I love is the idea of a magical grimoire on an e-reader.

Am I the only one that finds Arata a refreshing new kind of harem hero? I was so tired of the harem genre until I started reading this manga almost two years ago. If it was not always "the fag" that panics when just a girl is showing him some interest or the extremely serious asexual guy, it is the extremely pervy guy that wants to swim in panties (with two divergents, the one that wants to swim in panties and did not care about women [the fetishist] or the guy who is a perv but ends up being a fag when a girl actually comes at him [the too much porn fag]).

I dont understand why this anime is receiving such harsh criticism when a show like Vanadis (I like it too) feels SO RUSHED (probably because I've read the LNs) receives more pampering reviews (conflict of harem interests may be?). Probably the size of the tits of the naked scenes affect the reviewers stand point or the hero is not fag enough.

I even read reviews where one of the characters is being criticized for being a teenage teacher, yeah, like Negima's starting plot of being a child magician genius thrown in a school as a teacher made a lot of sense when compared with this one (may be some people need a crapload of explanations like Terra Formars to be happy as to why Lilith is a teach in a fantasy anime). If the anime stays faithful to the manga, some stuff will be explained over time.

Someone explain to me why this anime is being denigrated so much :/, I know this is not a master piece and has a lot of weak spots but at least I find it really enjoyable. The harsh criticism when I've seen worse being praised is annoying me as hell.
