My Amazon Cowboy Bebop LE came in today. Its not too bad, I like the little books they're almost petite. I'm not so sure about the box though, I worry that opening and closing it would wear out its spine. The good news is that when I ordered the set the price was about $90, but when it shipped Amazon charged me $75 ($79 w/tax). I'll check out the video quality this weekend.

Just bought the Kill la Kill UK Collector's Edition Part 1. It's discounted on the Anime Limited website at the moment (£26,99) and it's still available at the moment that I'm typing this message so if you're looking for a good deal and if you have a region free BD player, go get it Very Happy Apparently the DVD Collector's Edition is supposed to be the same price, but that's still showing up at £39,99 for me.

Dammit! It's sold out now! And I been wanting to get this too! I wish I saw this earlier ORZ

Oh well, Imma wait for sometime next month to pick it up (if it comes up again for whatever reason, someone please message me)

While the Canadian loonie is not cratering like the ruble, our sinking dollar is defo affecting my anime and related importing habit. Case in point, my recent TRSI sale package, which came to $295.30 USD (with tax). In Canookian shekels that came out to $340.89. That's basically a 15% premium for the pleasure of living in a socialist paradise that is not experience global warming.

The truly crazy thing is that even with that 15% premium it was WAAAAAAAAY cheaper for me to import from TRSI than to get the same titles through Amazon Canada.

*sigh*

Which one of you Yankees/Dixiecrats wants to adopt me?

just a few more pre-orders to ring in the New Year

another CD for the latest Mushishi from Amzn JP
Mushishi Original Soundtrack

more from singer Hanae & the new season of Kamisama Kiss
【Amazon.co.jp限定】 神様の神様 / おとといおいで(初回限定盤)(DVD付) (ポストカード(アニメ絵柄)付) CD+DVD, Limited Edition

more Ghibli goodness (don't want to wait for years, can't wait. not going to wait. as usual...)*
When Marnie Was There (Blu-ray)

and music from the same by Priscilla Ahn. I haven't been this smitten upon hearing a singing voice since, well Hanae. And before that, the first time I ever heard Norah Jones. And before that... Lucinda Williams. All just amazing talents.
Fine On The Outside (Priscilla Ahn)

Also:
since English subtitles have been confirmed, went ahead and pre-ordered this for ¥ 28,859 + ¥ 1,100 shipping (less than 300 USD)
Fate / stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] Blu-ray Disc Box I [Limited Edition] (no manufacturer Early Booking Bonus)

*too many "to's"

Some more re-purchases from Ebay and Half.com

Photon: The Idiot Menace Complete Series [A must have for me, but forgotten badly enough that a used copy still costs less than $20]
Patlabor The Movie 1
Patlabor The Movie 2
WXIII: Patlabor the Movie 3

all standard DVD's bought for about a buck a piece (but with a couple bucks shipping on each)- I still have the limited edition packages, so discard the cheap boxes and put these in those... although I've lost the extra discs, it's the content I care about the most.

Also signed up for the Disney movie club, although, with my initial purchase, I only rebought a few of my Pixar movies, I'll pick up the Ghibli stuff eventually, but I'm waiting because I actually still have all the DVD's from the BD/DVD combo packs, and those get lowest priority on my repurchase queue, as I still own the movie in some format... even if they are in a storage locker 1,000 miles away.

that has one of the best uses of a black magic marker in an anime.Wink Laughing I remember that was available for 4.95 brand new when I first picked it up.

just another pre-order this time for "Hozuki's Coolheadedness"
Read the review. I rather like it when they're not sugar coated. I also checked the first EP out on CR. I know it's from Sentai and that by default makes me a bit leery of pre-ordering, but Barnes & Noble has the blu-ray available for $36.29 with free shipping (streets Feb 17th). So between that, some of the responses to that review, what I've already seen on CR, and at that price... waiting to catch it all on a disc is an option for me.
