Hint #1 made me think of this, but I didn't know it had a dub. As such I'll use the dub names.

spoiler[Pretty Cure, episode 8. A is Natalie, B is Hannah. They're fighting over Hannah's botched attempt at helping Natalie with Shawn. They wrote their feelings in their magic diaries which got switched and now they're reading the other's.]

@Akane: I haven't seen the show either, but with a little digging you can find the exact context.
