Minami said at the 15th anniversary BONES panel that there will be 3 adaptations and 1 original for 2015.

BBB, Akagami, and Show by Rock are all based off a manga, manga, and rhythm game respectively. All are adaptations. The last 2015 anime has to be an original anime. Noragami will probably be Winter 2016 unless Minami lied about BONES lineup.

While you could (and most likely) be right, plans do change (though usually pushed back instead of moved ahead Razz )

It has appeared on the NY Times Bestsellers list quite a few times so I'd guess it's doing fairly well.

Just yesterday I told myself "Man, Noragami was a cool anime. I think I'll read the manga." and just earlier today I finished catching up to the manga and BAM! SECOND SEASON.

I think this is clear evidence you all have me to thank for this.

So freaking excited for this! Though I wonder how they're going to handle Bishamon's arc considering that anime original ending or are they just going to skip it all together.

The anime-original arc doesn't interfere or permanently alter the manga story in any way; it's more like a 'side-story' adventure that foreshadows some future plot twists. But nothing major that would interfere with the canon Bishamon arc.

I'm not 100% surprise but I am still excited!

It was somewhat expected because BONES animated and released 2 OVA's which takes place a few arcs after Season 2.

It would have been a waste for them for animating those two OVA's.

Very happy and our 5 YENS HAVE PAID OFF!

Happy that this got a second season. I know that many people were wishing for this to happen. I'm not as hype as others, but I'm probably still gonna watch it. Season 1 was pretty good.

Yes! What great news! Noragami is one of my favorite mangas at the moment, so I'm glad to hear it's getting a 2nd season! This 2nd season will most likely adapt the Bishamon arc so I am really looking forward to seeing that animated.

The anime is licensed by Funimation.

How many volumes did the first season cover, and how many volumes are there now? I'm wondering how many arcs they'll adapt.

They covered like 4 volumes, with 13 currently if I'm not mistaken. The similarities between manga and anime stop at like Chapter 15, 52 being the latest chapter. And even then, there were things in those 15 chapters that they didn't cover, which connected to the next arc. So they have stuff to animate.

I thought it was unlikely, but not impossible, that a second season of Noragami would be made. I am happy that there will be a sequel to one of my favorites animes of last year. And I am glad Bones and the creative staff is coming back.
