A very strong slate. I am tempted to buy Beyond the Boundary's standard BD, but, beyond KyoAni's amazing visuals, the story was too mediocre for me to want to rewatch.

finally we get beyond the boundary on bluray
but at 180$ MSRP i'm not sure if I should say screw you or end up buying it.
I really like the chunibyo box, but anything over 100$ is not much different than importing.

Right, that reminds that I forgot to watch Brynhildr. Beyond the Boundary is a title that I'd pick up some time eventually as there were some great visuals and decent humor which could come out better with a decent dub and...

Black Bullet's getting dubbed over Blade and Soul? I would have bet the opposite; I have to give credit to Sentai for releasing shows they licensed for simulcasting at a steady pace. In what format they release them is still confusing me though.

You're honestly better off.

Anyway, I'm on the fence about Beyond the Boundary. It might be worth a re-watch just to see if it pushes me over the edge.

Have you noticed that the CE edition of Beyond the Boundary will apparently come with an extra episode (I am guessing a special/OVA), but the standard versions will not have it?

While I can understand Sentai is doing this to entice people to buy the CE, it would be understandable if some people get upset by this.

Yeeeeah, I'm hoping that's a misprint, kind of like the Place to Place situation where it seemed like the Blu-Rays had the OVA episode but the DVDs didn't, but both versions wound up having it. I always thought Super-Special Collectors' Editions were supposed to be about cool packaging, feelies, soundtracks, and the like, not actual content from the show.

...It could actually become a rather clever marketing strategy as long as certain boundaries are respected. An OVA is seldom integral to the main story unless the main story is comprised of OVA's, so them existing as special features doesn't seem unreasonable to me. It'd put off some people, but I could see a company releasing a CE with an exclusive OVA, and then, once the CE's sold out, releasing that OVA by itself or something.

Honestly though, that's not a trend I'm seeing, so I'm guessing it's just a misprint.

By the way, re-watching Beyond the Boundary's first six episodes set me over the edge. Its technical merits are well-spoken-for and cannot be ignored, but the story itself is compelling enough to be worth it. And, because I am a greedy collector, I ordered the CE.

...It's going to be an expensive couple of months.

Ohh, looks nice. Love the booklet (wish KoS had had one). It almost makes me want o buy it. I liked the look of the show, but wasn't too crazy with were the story went, so I'll be skipping this release. But if they keep it up with the CEs I wont mind throwing money at them.
