hold on let me check mine on my PS4............NOOOOOOOO! it's the wrong region

thankfuly I also have a multiregion DVD player but how did this happen?

The fact that is is Region 4 suggests that the discs were almost certainly authored in or for Australia. Manga were either intending to use the AU masters as-is (in which case they should have been R2+4) or when modifying them for use in the UK someone forgot to change the region from 4 to 2.

most of Manga UKs masters come from Australia because they also use the pal format so it saves money on converting from NTSC to PAL

so I'm guessing some where along the line the region 2 coding wasn't put on the disc

That's not really the point. I can play region A blu-rays, but I'd still be pissed if I brought a new UK release that was A locked.

I also had this problem. But luckily I bought a multi-region player years ago so I could order anime from america.
