Episode 7:

Mixer is such serious business in a show like this LOL

The misadventures in the second half of the episode had a solemn tone to it with Dayon and Dekapan. Kinda felt sorry for those two guys who didn't manage to hitchhike successfully. At least I think they managed to enjoy their own little adventure.

Episode 8:

Lol the guy in the mask reminds me of Jason Voorhees.

Ah what an ending. I was not expecting a big mecha firing all at around everything. The fish idol is such a tease to the boys.

Not the best ep. I think I like shorter skits better, both segments went on a bit too long, especially the first segment. Nothing wrong with the concept of making fun of murder mysteries or Sherlock Holmes, but it was stale and stretched out. Fish idols are more original, at least. But my favorite part was Karamatsu's guitar jam at the end. Short, sweet, very funny. (Is it just me, or is Karamatsu a perpetual victim? He was kidnapped in an earlier ep, murdered in the first segment of this one, and fell off the roof at the end!)

Episode 8

I laughed out loud when I noticed that the killer was clearly still in the same room, first appearing just the background and then becoming really obvious. I am not always a fan of a joke just being something being extended than it should, but it being done when dramatically cutting all over the room including on the obvious killer did make me laugh. Similarly it reminded of that SAW parody they did in an earlier episode that I also really enjoyed.

And Totoko's whole self centred thing in also being completely clueless at anything beyond wanting to be adored. For a cast with self centred idiots, she fits in.

I'm glad Choromatsu is not just the straight man/tsukkomi character. His love of Totoko is compounded by him being an idol dork. His fanboy screams are great.

I love it too! Plus it's such a sibling thing to do~

I wonder if the series will touch upon Ichimatsu's animosity toward Karamatsu. Compared to how he responds to the others, Ichimatsu is more directly aggressive with him (this ep, second ep). And he actively celebrated his kidnapping. I can't tell if it's building to anything or they're just one-off jokes.

No "Totty" callback this week but what an amazing episode!

Poor, poor Karamatsu. Anime hyper And dang it, Hatabou is adorable!

The second half centering around Juushimatsu was great! I was actually waiting for some kind of punchline in Osomatsu fashion at the end but there was none, surprisingly.

Jyushimatsu getting the moments of his life this episode with his date. I think that girl laughed a bit too much though. The ending was surprisingly touching. I was not expecting it to end like that with the running with the train and tearful good-bye.

Surprisingly touching. ending there. The music worked well there too. I guess this series does have a bit of feels.

... What did 14 on her arm mean? Had she previously tried to cut her wrists so much from depression that she was in serious need of help that she could only get from going back to her family? Based on what Osomatsu saw, had she done pornographic movies and was so embarrassed about it that she did not feel herself worthy of Jysuhimatsu? She was just so depressed despite those moments of laughter that she could not ask him to look after her.

I had heard before that comedy depression often go hand in hand. The example that gets used a lot in recent times has been the tragic suicide of one of the funniest men ever. I have been following some videos of one of the funniest YouTubers as he came out about a crippling case of depression. It is a worthy topic, and perhaps I am reading too far into this, I get the feeling that maybe this was what the episode was talking about.

I have not seen the topic of depression appear all too often. The best other example that comes to mind is Sengoku Collection, my favourite episode from that series. Although I think it similarly fits into the ESP episode of Osomatsu-san, a crackpot comedy skit show, can actually be the perfect medium to talk about some issues.

"Jyushi" can mean "14" in Japanese, and he was wearing that band earlier in the episode. You can also see her holding her wrists and bandages right as she's thinking about jumping off. So Jyushimatsu probably gave it to her and she wears it as a memento not to hurt herself anymore.

I assume she became an AV actress as a last resort to survive on her own in the city and is going back home to the country to recover and start over. Nonetheless, I hope she and Jyushimatsu get to meet again (at least by letter or something)

Episode 10:

LOL, this episode felt trollish especially with the disguises and the Girlfriend Rental Service. It looks like the siblings got the last laugh though despite initially blowing a lot of their money on the service. I mean, the "girls" were charging for breathing in the same air as them....how silly is that?

It sounds silly, but there are actual rental services in Japan that charge for "extras" like touch. For example, according to Kotaku, the Soine-Ya (Sleeping Together service) in Akihabara charges 3,000 Yen for 20 minutes of lying in bed next to a woman, and 1,000 Yen each for extras such as
-Gazing into each other's eyes for 1 minute:
-resting her hand on the customer's arm for 3 minutes
Etc

Ep 11

Another episode with many shorts. The Juushimatsu segment reminded me that indeed he is my favorite. SO CUTE! XDDD

I didn't think we would see F6 again but hey! Here they are! Anime hyper I wonder if the new episode 1 for home release will include them.

Episode 11:

LOL, that was gold. So this is what Christmas is like in this show.
Also, I felt trolled by that fantasy date (mainly because of the change in art style that reminds me more of Star-mu). Quite fun what they did there.

The last 5 minutes got me smiling and felt sorry for the guys...
They couldn't even get a "date picture" D:
