Here are some I forgot.
Sasuke Uchiha- Naruto: Now, watching your family get slaughtered isn't something that'd brighten my day either, but Sasuke soon develops a "Guilt By Association" mentality after learning Itachi killed his family because they were staging a coup. So, to honor Itachi's memory, he decides to destroy Konoha and everybody in it, the literal thing Itachi was trying to prevent. Not just the village elders. Everybody who had nothing to do with it. So, after helping Tobi gain his rise to power, and killing multiple innocent people both directly and indirectly, how is Sasuke punished? By being accepted back into Konoha and getting to go about his life. Umm, no, Kishimoto. Sasuke is a war criminal. If this universe had guns, Sasuke's next stop would have been the firing range for his actions.
Meruem- Hunter x Hunter: He's a sociopath with a god complex that thinks all of humanity should answer for its atrocities. First off, I hate the "Genocide is the Answer For the World's Problems" cliche. What's the logic in it? You want to make the world a better place by killing everybody in it? No, not everybody will be dead, because he carries another cliche: "My Fantastic Race is Superior." He's just a knockoff of Magneto. We're supposed to see his relationship with Komugi as his redeeming quality, but their relationship borders on Stockholm Syndrome. After contracting radiation poisoning, he doesn't really put much effort in getting Komugi to leave. Instead, he keeps playing Gungi with her until they both die. That's not romantic. That's sick.

Honestly, I'm amazed at how many cosplayers there were of the more one-dimensional SAO characters at my local convention. Oh well. At least Yuuki, the character with the most potential, was cosplayed. |
Well, sometimes people don't care that much about the personalities and only admire the design of the costume and character?
Like.....if anyone remembers that lame show based on the better game: Ookami Kakushi? As soon as I saw the main female character, I wanted to cosplay her. I cannot tell you what her personality is like....I don't even remember her backstory.
But she looked so awesome.

I guess. I just always thought it was fun to cosplay and roleplay the character at the same time. Then again, I usually go for the eccentric type, like HOUOUIN KYOUMA!!!!

Honestly, I can even sympathize with characters who aren't supposed to be sympathetic, so I have never really had a problem sympathizing with characters who were actually supposed to be sympathetic.
